Chapter #71
May 18th 2023
Sam's POV
"Sam, I need coffee." Scarlett says out of nowhere as we are cuddled in bed enjoying the time of it being just us before the kids wake up oooh that gives me an idea for a song yes. "Ok I'll make you some coffee. I'll be right back." I say as I untangle myself from her arms and head to the kitchen. As the coffee is brewing a panicked Sarah runs up to me. "Please tell me that's for mom." She says pointing to the coffee maker. "Yeah she wanted coffee so I told her I'd make some, why?" I am confused. "Look at her post." She says I pull out my phone and look at her post. "She just posted this." I chuckle looking at the time stamp.
"Sam hurry"
[SarahJohansson: I'm gonna check on Ma]
[ElizabethOlsen: That's fucking terrifying]
[SamMily: Babe it's brewing right now]
[ScarlettJohansson: I knew I married you for a reason]
[HunterJohansson: Surrrrre for the coffee riiiiight]
[MelanieSloan: Hunter!]
[HunterJohansson: Sorry]
[ChristianJohansson: Scarlett does like her coffee]
Sarah and I laugh at all the comments as the coffee finishes. I made a cup for myself and one for her obviously. "I'm going to bring this to your mother." I say. "Wise choice." She chuckles and I nudge her shoulder and roll my eyes before heading back upstairs. "Gimme." Is the first thing to come out of Scarlett's mouth when I walk into our room with both a cup for her and I chuckle at her as she makes grabby hands at the mug. "Here you go Penguin. I liked the post. You scared Sarah though." I tell her and when she hears the last part a hint of worry appears in her eyes. "Is she ok? Do I need to check on her?" She asks in full on mom mode. "She's fine. She came running into the kitchen and said 'please tell me that's for mom'. I hadn't seen your post. So I was confused till she told me to take a look at your post. Your need for coffee in the morning is cute." I say making her roll her eyes. "I like my coffee fuck off." She says jokingly. "I know you do, Baby and I will always be willing to make it for you." I tell her and grab my notebook that I use for songs and start to jot down the lyrics I thought of as I was making the coffee. "What are you writing?" Scarlett asks. "A song." I shrug. "No shit sherlock. What song are you writing?" She asks. "It's called 'When The Crazy Kicks In' would you like to see?" I ask. "Yes please." She says and I hand her the notebook.
Here I go tip toe into the kitchen And don't you know, crash goes the coffee cup My only chance to be still and listen Lord, don't let, don't let the kids wake up A little time with You, the only way to get me through the day
Oh, come meet me in this moment Before it all gets going And these plates start to spin And the crazy kicks in A circus of distractions Is just about to happen I'll be ready when The crazy kicks in
Pushed and pulled by a thousand expectations And all the roles that I'm supposed to play To hit the ground, running's a temptation But I have learned this lesson the hard way A little time with You, the only way to get me through the day
You got me, where You want me, even through the highs and lows You know me, and You hold me, and You show me that You'll never let me go (Never let me) (Never let me) (Never let me) (Never let me) (Never let me) (Never let me) (Never let me) Oh, I'll be ready when Oh, the crazy kicks in
"So what do you think?" I ask her. "I like it. I will admit it does get a little crazy around her when the kids are up." She says. "I thought of the idea while we were snuggled up. And then when you asked for coffee the lyrics came to me as I made the coffee." I tell her. "Well I love it. I love when you share your songs with me either when they are still on a page or when you are recording them." She says with a smile as she hands me my notebook back. "I'm glad you enjoy my music. Your opinion means the most to me." I tell her. "It shouldn't." She says and I look at her confused. "Why?" I ask. "Because the only opinion on your music that should mean the most to you is yours." She says. "What made you so wise?" I chuckle. "Watching you do stupid shit. I learn from the stupid things you do." She laughs. "Well at least one of us is." I laugh
