The coconut car freshener gave the car a more appealing smell. It reminded me of when I was eight years old and got a very special present from my mom and dad. They got me a cookbook, knowing how much I loved to cook with my their help of course. My favorite recipe was coconut coffee cake. I also loved spending time with my parents while cooking a yummy treat. My flashback ended after a short while. I circled back to earth. I pulled the car in reverse, and my tan mini van soared backwards. I stopped at the red light at the end of my street. Then, I turned right and drove down North 7th street. Without warning, something flew through the sky and collided into a building. The north tower. The ground shook like an overpowering earthquake. My car skidded and slid in circles. I started to go flying out of my seat, but my seatbelt caught me. I jolted backwards. My car came to a stop as shatters of glass evaporated everywhere. I couldn't believe my eyes. People were huddling together, coughing and screaming. Life seemed like it was in slow motion. Never ending slow motion. It took a minute to recover and come to earth on what was happening. What was happening? And were the people in the tower okay? I had hoped so. Fire trucks arrived followed by policemen who guarded the premises around the tower. Tears built up in my eyes and spilled down my face as I continued driving towards Teri's house, not speaking a single word or drastically moving. I didn't want to make this day worse.
