I had put my 11 new books on my bookshelf, some of them where stacked on top of each other. I smiled looking up at them.
Then i picked one and hopped down on my bed. I opened the book on the first page, but I didn't get to read anything before a knocking on my window started.
I looked at the window and saw Zayden there, he waved his hand in greeting.
I opened the window and he smiled softly at me, "can I come inside?" He asked.
"Why?" I eyed him wearily.
He just shrugged "I'm bored" I thought about it and then I opened the window all the way.
He claimed inside and I closed the window behind him.
"Wow, you have many books" he looked around my room.
I did have many books.
I had books on a shelf, I had books on my desk, I had even books in my closet. I had read those books.
I needed to get more shelves.
"It's like 40 books in here"
"63" I correct.
He looked a bit stunned and I closed my eyes wishing I didn't say that.
We stood in silence while Zayden looked around my room. "Do you want to go for a walk?" He asked.
I gave him a smile and nodded my head, "I would like that" I walked over to my chair where I had laid my jacket.
I put it on and the walked over to my closet and got a pair of shoes. I put them on and motioned him towards the window.
"You can't come with me, my parents don't want me to have boys around" I rolled my eyes. He nodded and jumped out the window.
I closed it behind him and turned around, I walked to my bedroom door and walked out into the hallway. I walked past the kitchen and waved to my mom, "I'm going for a walk, back in half an hour" I said and she answered "love you".
"Love you too" I said in return and walked out.
I saw Zayden almost instantly, he was standing leaning against a three on the side of the road. His brown hair almost black moving slightly in the wind.
His brown eyes were locked on me, he eyed me from top to toe. And I shivered, "you cold?" He asked and I shook my head.
"I'm fine" I started walking away from my house, Zayden falling into step with me.
We had been walking for a couple of minutes in comfortable silence.
"Wanna come over?" Zayden asked and I looked at him, he saw my confused expression and laughed. "Like hang out, with friend Aleena, Ember and some of my friends?" He asked and I felt the embarrassment flow through me.
I sighed at myself then I answered him, "yes, that would sound fun" he stopped and turned to me.
"Then it's a deal".
