Chapter 6| Warner

I was gently being shaken awake, the sun hitting my face as I rolled to the side, I was laying in a bed. Not mine though.

I looked around noticing where I was, I was in Aleena's bed. In her house.

"Hey, sleepyhead" Aleena said and plopped down on the bed beside me.

"You fell asleep during the movie and when everyone was about to leave Zay carried you up here" she said, I just groaned and covered my face with a pillow.

"Come on, get up" she said and snatched the pillow away from me. "What breakfast?" She asked and I sat up.

"Yes please" my voice was dry and my eyes were heavy. Aleena laughed.

"So that's what's getting you up" she said and smiled, her hair was out. Her black waist long hair perfectly placed. It was straight and a bit in her face.

I got up and took Aleena's hand, I dragged her to the bathroom. I stood in front of the mirror and pointed, "look" I sighed, "your so pretty with your long hair and look at me" my hair was like a rats nest. It was brown hair all over the place.

My hair was half in my face and so many knots. She just laughed, "you know your like my only friend that I show my hair to right?" She asked and I nodded.

"So don't worry, no one is going to say my hair is prettier than yours" she laughed again and I smiled.

"At least I can say it" I said and smiled at Aleena through the mirror.

I had changed and walked downstairs with Aleena, Kenji was singing at the top off his lungs as he was making waffles.

I laughed and Kenji turned to me, but he didn't stop singing he just increased the volume and sang even louder.

Then a knock was heard on the front door, I went to open it and I saw Juliette in front of me. I smiled politely as she stepped to the side and Aaron stood there.

I was pretty close to Juliette, but not that much to Aaron. He seemed to become uneasy around me.

I have no idea why, but he always has a sorrowful look in his eyes or just shows no emotion.

When he first saw me now his eyes looked sad, but not even a second later he was like a brick wall.

I had no idea how a 16 year old girl could make Aaron Warner sad. Maybe it was just a trick of my mind.

"Hi" I said lightly and Juliette smiled.

"Hi Emelie" she answered and I stepped to the side to let them in, Aaron just nodded slightly to me and walked passed.

I had been a frequent part of everyone's lives since I first became Aleena's best friend. That was a couple of years ago now.

I closed the door and Juliette walked over to Nazeera and gave her a hug before giving Kenji a light slap to the back of his head.

"Ouch princess" he said and glared at Juliette.

"That's for not inviting me to you're movie night the other day" she said and turned her back to him and gave Aleena a hug before moving on to Zayden.

I looked down as I walked towards them and was about to sit down as Juliette took me into her arms.

I sort of melted into her touch, it felt different from everyone else's hugs. This felt like home.

I had no idea why though.

I held onto her for a good while before I let go, she smiled at me and gave me a second quick hug before she backed off.

Juliette and Aaron was at least 19 maybe 20 years older than me, same with Kenji and Nazeera.

"Like I said you should have invited me" Juliette laughed, her laugh was a light one, it made other people want to join.

"Well" he dragged out the last syllable, "we can do it now" he suggested. And Juliette's face lit up.

Her face was a smile, while Aaron beside her just grimaced I couldn't help but choke a laugh.

Nazeera hushed us all and moved us to the living room. I jumped down in the middle of the couch and Aleena was right behind me.

She was sitting on my left side, Juliette was sitting at the end of the couch on my right. There was no place Aaron could sit beside Juliette unless he sat beside me to.

He hesitated for just a moment before sitting as far away from me as possibly. I felt a little hurt, but didn't let myself to become sad.

Kenji sat down on the smaller couch and Nazeera sat down between his legs, her head resting on his chest. They where cute together.

Kenji's hand was lightly stroking her arm as it was resting on her stomach.

He was so caring of her, so gentle, so happy.

He had a small smile on his face as Naz was watching the movie we put on.

I looked to my right, J was resting her head on Aaron's shoulder, his arm around her shoulders.

I looked to Aleena and saw she had already fallen asleep, I smiled as I got up and grabbed a blanket. I put it over her as I realised Zayden wasn't here.

I walked to the kitchen and he was no where to be found. I checked downstairs but nothing. Then I went to the second floor.

The staircase was in the same room as the living room. So I just walked up the stairs on my was back.

I was on top of the stairs as I looked down on the 5 people.

Then I turned and knocked gently on Zayden's door.
