"Ah, back from the dead!"

You offer a pity chuckle to Jimin.

"I've never seen a zombie look so sexy," he stands up from his desk. "You really make it work."

"Shut up," you laugh, shaking your head, and putting your lanyard into your pocket.

You walked into the office first with Jungkook following suit behind you. You carried one of the coffee trays while he had the other.

"Oh, Kookie's here too. I thought-" Jimin stops himself, and brings a fist to his mouth as if in inquisition. "Oh, you came together?"

"What?" Jungkook asked, closing the door behind him.

Now he was standing right beside you.

"It's good to see you alive and well," Hoseok stands up to come and greet you. "You feeling better?"

"Much better. Thanks, Hobi."

He smiles warmly and you swear you feel your heart crack at the sight.

Jimin leans over to Taehyung and starts to whisper, "Never thought i'd see them standing so close together without their hands around each other's necks."

Taehyung is staring intensely at the two of you as Hoseok throws his arms around you in an excited hug, almost knocking you over. He places a single finger against his lips.

"Neither."

Namjoon's sudden precense in the room is silent, but it doesn't go unnoticed. It's like he carries an aura of power with him everywhere he goes.

"Haru. I'm happy to see you're feeling better."

But despite the authority in his voice, his face is incredibly sweet and welcoming.

He is warm, his blonde hair bringing out the colour in his skin and the glasses sitting on his nose make for an overall very pleasant look.

The dimples are definitely helping.

"Thank you, Sir." you offer a bow. "I have a lot to say to you, actually. But, i'd like to start with an apology."

"An apology?"

"Yes." you drop your bag onto the table. "I want to apologise for the complacency that I demonstrated that night. I know I was-"

"Let me stop you right there, Haru. Forgive me for interrupting." Namjoon holds out a hand. "But I need you to listen to me when I tell you that you have nothing to apologise for. I won't entertain any unnecessary grievances, especially when you were not at fault. You did exactly as I would have done. I am
proud of you. If anything, I feel as though I should be apologising to you, for putting you in such a dangerous situation."

"I did it to myself, sir."

"No, you didn't." he says firmly. And you suddenly don't want to argue.

"And while I must admit, the cards may not have been in your favour that night, they were certainly in all of ours."

"What do you mean?"

"We are incredibly grateful that your overdose with the Nexus drug didn't turn out to be fatal, though it certainly could have. Do you understand that?"

"O-Of course."

"Good. I sure hope so. I think, we were all very concerned that night. I must admit, I prayed a little harder than I'm used to."

"You prayed for me?"

"Moving on." he snaps back. "Has anybody briefed you on the progress we've made?"
