Jungkook laid down on his bed listening to the soft pitter-patter of rain against the roof.
Something isn't right. He could feel it. His gut was telling him something happened but he didn't know what. He sighed, stressed.
The ring of his phone cut through the silence of the room. As always, he was all alone in this big house.
He reached for his phone but then frowned when he saw the caller ID. Why the hell was Jimin calling him so late?
"What's wrong?"
"Jungkook." Jimin's distressed voice came from the other side, "can you just check up on Taehyung once?"
Jungkook sat up at the name of the brunette. He gulped, "Is everything okay?"
"I don't know. But I don't think he is." Jungkook got up from his bed, walking towards the door with the phone still pressed against his ear, "I've been trying to reach him for the past half n hour but he isn't picking up his calls and he only does that when his mom-"
"I'm going to his house, don't worry. I'll call you back." Jungkook said before ending the call. He grabbed the umbrella and walked out of his house and to the brunette's.
He ringed the bell and waited a few minutes but got no response so he did it again but there was no response yet again. He ringed it two more times when finally the front door opened and Taehyung's mother stood there , her eyes red and cheeks flushed as if she's been drinking for hours now.
She smiled at him, "Jungkook? What are you doing here?"
"Mrs Kim. Can I meet with Taehyung? We have got this project together so I need to discuss something with him."
Jungkook watched carefully as her smiled slipped for a second but she composed herself just as fast, "I'm afraid you can't meet him right now. You see, he wasn't feeling too well so he slept early."
"Oh, um, then can I just take the notebook from his room? I promise I won't disturb him, I just need the notes so I can complete the rest of the project."
"Why don't you do it tomorrow? Let him rest okay? I'll tell him to send the notes to you if he wakes up." She smiled again and then closed the door without letting Jungkook speak another word.
Jungkook felt stucked. There's no other way he can go inside and check if Taehyung's alright, or if even is in his house right now. He turned towards his left and rounded the corner of the house and stood right below Taehyung's room.
The window was closed and the lights were off. It was on the first floor so there's no way Jungkook can climb up. "Fuck." He ran his hand through his hair tugging on it but then quickly took out his phone and dialled Taehyung's number. Once, twice, thrice, but it ended up with the same robotic voice telling him to try again later.
"Fuck, Taehyung, please. Pick up." Jungkook whispered desperately, dialing his number again, that's all he could do at the moment.
He let out a stuttered breath when the call connected and the brunette's voice flooded in through the speaker, his voice hoarse, "what?"
"The fuck were you doing that you couldn't pick up my damn call?"
The line went silent for a few seconds, "I was sleeping."
Jungkook paused. He doesn't know if he should trust his words. "Really?" Take a chance. It doesn't matter. "You aren't at your house though."
The line went silent yet again, "I am. What do you want anyway?"
"Don't lie. I'm in your house right now."
"Funny. My mom won't even let you in, why are you lying?"
