The tension hung in the air, thick and palpable, as their gazes locked in the dim light. Neither of them moved, but neither of them could look away. Jungkook's hand was still resting over Taehyung's fist, warm and reassuring, grounding him in the moment.
Taehyung's lips parted slightly, as if he wanted to say something but couldn't find the words. His gaze flickered down to Jungkook's lips again, and this time, Jungkook noticed.
There was a pause and then, so slowly that it felt like the world had stopped spinning, Jungkook leaned in.
It wasn't rushed or desperate. It wasn't even planned. It just... happened.
Taehyung's breath hitched as their lips met in the gentlest, softest touch, barely there, like a whisper. It wasn't anything more than a simple press of their mouths, their lips resting against each other tenderly, but it was enough to make the world outside the closet fade away completely.
For a moment, they stayed like that, not moving, just feeling the warmth and softness of the other. It was both of their first kiss, and it felt perfect-not because it was practiced or flawless, but because it was them.
When they pulled away, it was slow, hesitant, as if neither of them wanted the moment to end.
And then, unexpectedly, Taehyung let out a soft chuckle, his eyes crinkling slightly in the dim light. Jungkook blinked, caught off guard, before a quiet laugh of his own slipped out.
They didn't even know why they were laughing. Maybe it was the nerves, or the absurdity of the situation, or just the sheer relief that it had been okay-more than okay.
When their laughter died down, they looked at each other again, their eyes soft and full of something new, something tender and unspoken.
Taehyung's cheeks were pink, and Jungkook's lips were slightly parted, his expression still dazed but warm.
"You're smiling," Taehyung whispered, his voice quiet but teasing.
Jungkook shrugged lightly, his grin growing. "So are you."
Neither of them moved away, their breaths still mingling in the close space. Whatever tension had been there before was replaced with something softer, something warmer.
For the first time in a long time, everything felt... right.
The air around them shifted, becoming heavier but not uncomfortable-just charged with something new, something fragile yet overwhelming. Taehyung's clenched fist slowly relaxed, his fingers unfurling.
Almost instinctively, they moved and rested on Jungkook's side. His touch was tentative at first, barely there, like he was afraid to overstep, but when Jungkook didn't move away, his grip became a little firmer, holding onto the fabric of Jungkook's shirt.
Jungkook's breath hitched at the contact, his heart pounding loud enough for him to wonder if Taehyung could hear it. Slowly, as if giving the other time to pull away, Jungkook lifted his hand and let it rest at the back of Taehyung's neck, his fingers brushing against the soft hair at his nape. His thumb lightly grazed the sensitive skin there, and Taehyung shivered, leaning just the slightest bit closer.
Their eyes met again, and this time, there was no hesitation.
Taehyung leaned in first, his movements slow and careful, as if he were afraid of breaking the delicate moment. Jungkook met him halfway, their lips connecting in another kiss-this one a little deeper, but still just as soft, just as tender.
Taehyung's grip on Jungkook's side tightened, pulling him a little closer. Jungkook's hand slid from Taehyung's nape to the curve of his shoulder, his thumb tracing soothing circles against his skin.
