Evie sat up slowly, watching as a singular flashlight shone in the distance, as if it was searching for something. She whispered, "What the fuck."

"Who is that?" Theo panicked, ruffling his bedsheets as he tried to scurry out, "I told you my story was fucking real—"

"Shut up!" Antonio nudged him, before looking at the figure in the far distance, "It could be Melanie... maybe."

"And what would she be doing strolling around at night?" Maddy questioned.

"Exercising?" Antonio guessed.

"Maybe it's another camper?" Maddy suggested doubtfully.

"Maybe they're lost." Evie added.

"Or maybe they're a creep." Elijah sat up quickly, before shouting loudly, "Hey!"

Alex whisper-yelled, "What the fuck!"

"Shut up!" Evie added in frustration.

Abruptly, the glow of the flashlight shone towards the group of teenagers, and the shadowy figure stood still for a moment. It looked as though the person was staring right at the group from the distance.

"We see you!" Maddy shouted.

Suddenly, the light vanished as the figure started sprinting away, the crunching of leaves echoing from a far. Elijah stood to his feet immediately, before grabbing a flashlight and sprinting after the figure, followed by Antonio.

"Wait!" Maddy pleaded, tears filling up in her dark eyes as Evie held her hand tightly, "This is really really bad—"

Jenna grabbed a flashlight from the floor beside her, as she stood up quickly. Evie grabbed her wrist protectively, "Jenna, no. What are you thinking?"

Jenna shot back, adrenaline pumping through her body, "I'm thinking there's a fucking creep stalking us."

"Please don't say that." Maddy's voice trembled.

"Theo and Alex, stay here with Evie and Maddy—" Jenna paused for a moment, her eyes darting around the dark area, "Where the fuck is Harper?"

Evie panicked, "I... I thought she went to the restroom?"

"Fuck!" Alex added, "We just need to stay together. If everyone splits off then—"

"Jenna!" Evie shouted, though the girl had already sprinted off after the figure.

Ignoring Evie's calls, Jenna sprinted through the forest, hearing the boys' shouts as she caught up. Trapped in on all sides by spidery shadows, Jenna ran as fast as she could, her flashlight moving around widely as she jumped over bumpy tree roots. She heard more feet crashing through the leaves behind her, shouting her name repeatedly as one of the girls screamed.
