It had been a week since Alex's suicide, the whole group had been affected by it. The whole Campsite seemed a lot more quiet and more people were deciding to quit their activities. Cabin Six had been questioned by the Medics about Alex- what was he like? Did he show any signs? Did he mention anything?Jenna sat down in the councillors office, which Melanie had instructed her to go at least three times a week. The Councillor, Dr Clara Maddens, was a young women with dark hair and skin. She wore a black blazer with sleeves rolled up to her elbows, a pencil skirt, and black tights. Jenna thought that Melanie had a lot of positivity posters- Dr Clara had triple.
"I'm glad you came, Jenna." Clara spoke softly, as she sat down opposite the girl, "It takes great bravery to come to one of these sessions. So, you being here today is a great start." She paused, looking at the documents in front of her, "Melanie informed me about what happened last week... apparently you lashed out on another Camper. Do you mind telling me what happened?"
"This girl read my files in the office and it had my personal stuff in there... like, how I'm in Care." Jenna explained hesitantly, "It contained all of my history, too."
"And you didn't want anyone knowing what you've been through?" Clara guessed, and Jenna nodded. She added, "Why do you think that is?"
"I don't know." Jenna shrugged, "My friends wouldn't want to be my friends if they found out I..."
A lump formed in her throat, as a stinging sensation caused the girl to pause. Jenna didn't want to cry in front Clara, and thankfully the Councillor noticed. The woman reassured, "Take your time. It's just you and me."
Jenna took a deep breath, "I used to deal drugs when I was fourteen to earn myself money for new clothes, because I used to get bullied for what I looked like. I didn't sleep most nights because I would piss myself, and I didn't tell anyone because I wanted to keep my reputation... but my reputation revolves around my anger problems. The kids started calling me Chip."
"Chip?" Clara questioned sympathetically.
"Child of Harmful behaviours and mentally Ill Parents." Jenna explained, "C... H... I... P." She added, "I didn't speak much when I first joined the group home, so none of the kids knew my name. They just named me based on my records."
Clara didn't speak for a moment, which made Jenna realise maybe she had overshared a bit more than she needed to. Jenna didn't realise how bad her childhood was, until she saw other people's reactions to it.
Doctor Clara took a breath, "I'm glad you shared that with me." She continued, "Did you tell anyone about this girl reading your records?"
