Epilogue: It Doesn't Matter

    Two years later, Emma smiles at her mother. "Momma, is it true that Daddy has always loved you?" She asks.

  "Yes, it is true," Adrien answers.

 "Yes, and it is also true, I have always loved him," Marinette replies.

    "Do you think I will find a boy to marry?" Emma asks.

   "Emma you are only two years old. You are too young to think about such things," Marinette says.

   "Your mother is right, dear," Adrien says.

  "Okay, I understand," Emma says.

   Emma is now sixteen years old. She has no boyfriend and the other girls at school make fun of her. She was born with two birthmarks, a unicorn on her left thigh, and a heart on her left cheek. 

    "Hey, ugly, girl!' The others mock her.

   "I am not ugly, you are!" Emma scoffs.

  "Hey, leave her alone, she is beautiful," Nathan says.

     "Are you crazy? She is a freak," Margot says.

     "Yes, she is an ugly #$%^&!"  Nikki, Margot's best friend says.

     "She is not, you are just jealous," Nathan remarks.

       

 Nathan puts an arm around Emma. "Come on Emma, let's ditch these losers," He says.

    Emma blushes. "S-Sure, whatever you say, N-Nathan," She stutters. 

     Nathan goes to class. He sits at the desk beside Emma. The rude girls are annoyed because they think Nathan is hot. They all hate Emma. They wish there were something they could do to get her expelled.

       For the rest of the classes, Emma only has one of them with Nathan. The rest of the press pots share the class with her.  She ignores them. In the last class, the only other one she shares with Nathan, he comes and sits with her. 

      After school, Nathan holds Emma's hand, He takes her out for a snack. Then, he takes her home. "See you later, Emma," Nathan says. "Y-yeah, see you later, Nathan," Emma says.

   "Emma who was that?" Marinette asks.

   "Yes, who was the young man that brought you home?" Adrien asks.

    "Oh, him, that is Nathan. He is in two of my classes at school. He is nice and he calls me beautiful," Emma blushes.

   "Awe, our daughter has her first crush," Marinette says.

     "Yes, she sure does," Adrien says.

Emma smiles. She works on her homework and finishes it early. She daydreams about Nathan. She wonders, "Why does he like me? I am just a girl with weird birthmarks." 

      The next day, at school, the mean girls approach her. "Stay away from Nathan, he is mine," One of them sneers at her.

   "Yeah, you will keep away with him, if you know what is good for you," Another scoffs.

   "You don't own him, and I can spend time with whoever I want. He can spend time with whoever he wants to." Emma argues.

    Nathan arrives just as one of the bad girls is about to hit Emma. "Hey, don't you dare lay a hand on her," He yells.  He holds her hand.

    The two sit next to each other as usual. The rest of the day goes by smoothly. After school, the mean girls show up. They try to stir up trouble as usual.

 One of them tries to kiss, Nathan. He shoves her away. "Go away, I don't like you. I love Emma," he says.

    Emma blushes. She lets him take her home. This time, he asks her to be his girlfriend and she agrees.

    "See you later, darling, Emma," Nathan calls out. He blows her a kiss.

Adrien smirks. "He reminds me of someone," Adrien says.

  "Maybe it is of you because I seem to remember you loved me no matter what, "Marinette says.

          "Yes, I suppose you are right. I am glad Nathan loves Emma, and I hope he will for years to come," Adrien says.

    "Same here," Marinette says.

Time skip again!

 Two years later, Emma and Nathan are engaged! The two are wed at her parents' place. Adrien and Marinette smile.  They could not be happier to have a son-in-law like him. They are glad he married their daughter.

  At the reception, Nathan toasted to his wife, "To Emma, my sweet, caring, wife who I adore, and yes, it does not matter to me that she has two birthmarks in unusual shapes. What matters is that she is herself, and I love her for it."

   "Awe, Nathan, that is so sweet!" Emma exclaims. She kisses him. He kisses her.

        As Nathan and Emma dance, Adrienette dances, and Alyno looks on. Their son has no idea what the fuss is about, and his sister is asleep on his mother's lap.
