Kara looked out the distance, from the left car window her side open to the sea breezes cooling the sun's blaze, noticing they've entered the coastal region, the forests gave way to the sandy desolates. The blue sky was an infinite never ending expanse over the salty yellow powder; empty, boring and bland. She looks to her right at Hal, only to see him dozing off. Smiling she caresses his soft hair and played with his fluff. She leans in close to his chest listening to his breaths. Jeta looks at her with mild annoyance from the rear-view mirror, then to his joy he saw the metallic foundations of a settlement, but failed to notice a long red line of sand.
"A terrace." Jeta sighs in relief. But the tranquility of their drive was rudely interrupted, by rumblings of the earth. Jeta slams the brakes and stops the car. Aria, who was asleep as well, was roused awake rudely.
"Hey! What the fuck!?" Aria shouted angrily at Jeta, only to be silenced by the sight before them, a pair of Titan Sand Shufflers emerged from the sand and breach the sand like whales over oceans, their mandibles being closed to push the sand behind them, their bellows vibrate the surrounding scene, jostling Hal from his slumber. The walls under the sand formed supports for the roads not being shattered from the beasts, but the beasts breached the sands over the road and to the other side, the sound shattering glass in its wakes, Hal managed to disperse the glass shards, but to Aria's dismay the paintjob was wrecked.
Angrily Aria runs and pops open the trunk, and with the swiftest hand movements opened her casket to reveal her weapon, a large weapon unfit to be called a gun, it was in all definitions, an artillery cannon tied to a stick. She aims her cannon and pulls the trigger unleashing a sky shaking blast that deafens the behemoths, but nothing happened. Aria looks confused at her weapon but the answer dawns on her; Jeta intercepted her firing with a firm strike. Aria's eyes widen as she folds her gun back into her suitcase, her retinas were flashed by the bright blue burning of Jeta's blades, as the behemoths made their way off into the distance.
Hal slowly stepped out the car dazed, he looks up at the dune's sky and sees Jeta disappear in a flash of yellow light. Aria was taken aback by the sudden movement, but to her surprise, from her peripherals she saw Jeta standing by her side.
"Why did you do that!?" Aria shouted at him. "Those shits ruined my ride!"
"That..." Jeta was about to answer but Kara answered for him.
"He was here the whole time; he didn't move an inch." Kara says fixated on helping Hal out the car.
Aria was perplexed by the phenomenon, yet she remembered; "Jeta doesn't release anything aside from his blue sparks and flames." She thinks to herself while assessing the damages to her car. Then taking a step back she sighs, they'd need an auto shop to fix it. "Jeta. You owe me a new paint job, every time you drive, she gets ripped to shreds." Aria says running her hands on the roof of the car. "And since we are right next to the town, it's your treat."
Jeta begrudgingly accepts. He turned to face the armored terrace's, "They probably charge the same currency as any other place. Fey has gone ahead to meet an old friend, she'll handle it."
"Old friend?" Hal asks perplexed, looking at Jeta.
"You'll see." Jeta says hopping back into his seat. Hal goes back into his seat, but Aria was looking up spaced out into the sky.
"You coming?", Kara asks confused as she buckles her seat belt.
"Yeah. I was just thinking." Aria replies "Elford..." She thought to herself.
The group managed to make it to the gate, as the toll booth's shield window opens. A polite looking man in his 40s greets them, his eyes were hidden by the wide smile lighting his face. He looks at Aria quickly before pulling the lever, unveiling the steel gates to the coastal beauty of Sarcognia; the roads looked freshly paved despite the sprawling population, palm trees were swayed by the ocean breeze.
