Jeta stood over a bedridden Aria eyeing her legs, each glowing vein was leaking a blue fluid. Aria grasped the bedposts, slowly starting to stand despite the pain driving her mind through the roof. Jeta slowly lifts her arm and rests her back into the bed into the bed as he raises his hand and formed his hand into a claw. The claw sprouted and modified into structure that resembled a 24-gauge needle. It pulled and sucked the fluid from the veins below her knees.
"Elford really isn't helping." Aria says groaning as she looks into his eyes. Aria was molting.
"It seems he's gone dormant." Jeta says as he slowly removes his needle and observes the fluid trickling down his veins. "I sense little of his essence. He's conserving his life force." Jeta sighs as he slowly hoists Aria over his shoulder and walks to the living room...
"Will you be coming with us?" Kara asks Chrysta, while slowly cleaning up the mess Jeta left behind in the living room.
"Nah." Chrysta said looking at the shelves.
"Why?" Hal asked sitting at the table nibbling on a piece of toast.
"I'm still a regular Ignid, I don't have some red mist, blue flame powers. I still got a place to live here." Chrysta explains.
"I thought it was left a wreck?" Kara chuckled to herself.
"Oh, don't worry, come follow me." Chrysta says beckoning the others to follow her up the exit stairs.
They followed her up covering their eyes from the sunlight. The bright daze gave way to the sight of Chrysta's house. It was slowly piecing itself together with bright blue tendrils.
"Even your house?" Hal says not surprised even the slightest.
"Mhm. Even my house." Chrysa grins wide as feeds her house a bit of the fluid from the same bottle she fed to her goggles the day before.
"How?" Kara asks dumbfounded. "How so many pets?"
"This fluid." Chrysta says handing it to Hal. "Invertebrates can never get enough of it. The hemolymphs in them are soothed. It's like a painkiller to them."
"Chrysta!" Aria's voice calls out as she slowly walks up to the 3 of them.
"Yes?" Chrysta asks walking to Aria, while taking back the fluid from Hal.
"You got more of that fluid?" Aria asks a bit tired.
"Yeah, here, this should last you for a few years." Chrysta says handing Aria a bottle of the same fluid.
"Thanks, I suppose we should saddle up and go?" Aria asks Chrysta holding her hand begging for her to come with them.
"Like I said before. No." Chrysta says firmly as she hugs her mother firmly.
"Alright then. Be safe then. I love you." Aria says smiling, leaving the embrace of Chrysta.
"Yeah yeah." Chrysta says nodding her head as she walks off into her house.
"AHEM." Aria coughs loudly.
"I love you too Mom." Chrysta says sighing as she points at the driveway. The car was clean and rebuilt as if it was never damaged in the nights before.
"Before we go. I need to ask you one thing." Jeta says as he closes the door to his realm and walks out to the daylight.
"How long can you stay in the bunker without leaving?" Jeta asks motioning his head towards the cellar door by her garage.
"4 years tops if I manage resources correctly." Chrysta says turning back to Jeta.
"I need you to..." Jeta says as he grabs her shoulders. "Hide in their as long as you can. When the world seed blooms who knows what will happen. Stay safe, okay?" Jeta says hugging her close to his chest. "Stay alive above all else."
