Inside the confines of Jeta's realm. Hal was inspecting Jeta's room, its plain design didn't hide the sensation of something was to be discovered. He noticed a metallic plate on one shelf. He tapped it and it sparked to life; its archaic design reminded him of the old relics of the civilization of California had. But this was intact instead of shattered and in several segmented pieces. He tapped the screen and to his delight it was something similar to the glassy terminals at his bus stations. He was perplexed by its symbol of a bitten apple on the startup screen.
Kara was snooping in Aria's compartments, noticing various files and papers. She notices a black notebook with a title that read. "Le Projet Pérenne." Her eyes widen as she flips through the book. "Drat, it's in some old extinct language." Kara sighs slinking the device into her pocket. "I'll find a way to translate this." She says before hearing a quiet door shut from behind her. It was Chrysta dragging Hal by the collar.
"I see you've been snooping around hm?" Chrysta giggles. "I see she moved into my old room; it hasn't changed a single bit since I last left. She really does get sentimental." Chrysta says running her hands on the cedar framed desk. "Is there a specific reason you two have gotten curious all the sudden?"
"Aria and Jeta don't really seem what they appear to be. And I'm curious how far back this conflict went, why are Hal's memories so strewn throughout eras. Why does Lyra run everything. And why are these memories always erased." Kara says walking up to her, towering over Chrysta before snatching Hal and setting him back to stand up. "What necessarily are they? I've overheard you say a superweapon, seemingly an upper echelon above what a fragment is."
"It's a long story." Aria says standing by the door frame. She wasn't amused. "If you do wish to look into what this world's history was layered upon." She paused for a moment, wondering what the right things were to do or say. "Tomorrow, with Jeta's permission, I'll explain things in a way you'd understand." She sighs walking to Kara and pulling the notebook from her pocket.
"Speaking of which where is he?" Hal asks peering past Fey to see if Jeta was behind.
"Here." Aria says holding out the metallic core for everyone to see.
Hal was taken aback, a little horrified, he couldn't speak.
"He's alright. He's just sleeping. Jeta is this, the body you see him as was what was originally his host. It will grow back." She says lining her fingertips with the frame's angle was marked by obscure lettering that obscurely resembled an upside down digital 7, a digital 3, A upside down cross, and a dismembered symbol of a heart. "73tA."
Hal slowly reached out to touch the mechanical heart. Only to pull his hands back from the burning hot sensation of blue flames. "Ow." Hal hisses recoiling in pain.
"As For now, I'd hope you'll stop snooping and start sleeping. Goodnight." Aria says before pushing the 4 of them out. Hal sighs before walking to his and Kara's room while Fey takes Jeta's room. Leaving Chrysta to sleep on the couch.
"Kara, you go ahead, I'm going to take a shower." Hal says before walking into the bathroom.
"Well alright." Kara mutters under her breath.
Hal slips off his sweater, and shirt revealing his pale boney frame, he turns up the heat to how he likes it; a firm 80 degrees F. He walks into the cascading warm that was a marvel of dimensional plumbing, despite being in a realm the pipeline was connected to the outside world. He turned the hot knob slightly back. He sighs in relief and pressure as he melts into the soothing touch of warm water.
He felt a slight tinge from his neck as he saw flashes of more memories, the insides of a tower with its bottom lined by railways and bridges, the lighting came from a violet mass distant in the ceiling's above. In these visions Hal looked forward, in front of him was the figure made of red light clutching its arm in pain, its long trail of blood, it rested by a terminal in the center of the bridging, Hal walked towards the terminal as he peered below. He quickly recoiled back because he saw what was below, the tower was floating over the planet. Hal looked back marveling at the blue sphere below. He resumed walking to the figure. But stopped when he heard Lyra's voice.
