─── ❛ this girl is on fire ❜ ───

ISABELLA WAS PACKING her stuff in her lonely cabin. silena was out, probably hanging with charlie, luis had already left with his dad to his apartment; and mitchell and valentina were outside, playing with the snow.

to be honest, isabella has been feeling like shit since the day nico left. percy and annabeth had already left two days ago. travis wasn't speaking with her; they haven't broken up yet, but isabella knew it was due.

she wasn't even mad at travis, she was mad at herself. how could she be so cruel? she knew travis would've never done that to her, that boy was infatuated with her. she was mad because of her stupid feeling, which she hasn't figured out yet. why is being a teenage girl so hard?!

as she closed her suitcase, she heard a banging on the door.

"come in." she said without looking.

travis walked in, and isabella almost tripped. he was wearing a navy hoodie and some pants; his hair was disheveled, and his eyes were a bit red. probably from crying.

"travis... hey," isabella said as she stood awkwardly.

"hey,"

they stood right in front of each other, not knowing what to do.

"so, what brought you here?" isabella smiled uncomfortably. why are you so awkward?!

"um, i thought we needed to talk," the boy said, still standing close to the door.

isabella blinked. "uh, yeah, sure." she picked up her suitcase and put it on the floor so she could sit on her bed. travis walked towards her.

"so, i'm sorry for how i acted back with chiron and all the other people,"

"uh, no, don't worry. i think everyone was feeling a bit overwhelmed," isabella started to play with her rings.

travis chuckled; he had a raspy voice, isabella assumed he had just woken up. "no shit,"

there was a silence. travis kept looking at isabella with a hint of sadness.

he sighed. "look, isabella, even though i admit i kinda overreacted, i still stand by what i said."

the girl felt her heart getting heavy.

"you haven't been the same person from two months ago, you've been avoiding me and practically ignoring me." he closed his eyes and breathed deeply. "but i didn't really mean to involve percy in my frustration; i was just jealous."

isabella quirked an eyebrow, her heart started to sped up. "wha—jealous of what?"

travis let out a frustrated sigh. "can't you see the way he looks at you? it's almost as if you were the only person on the planet; it's annoying as fuck!" he closed his eyes for a moment. "anyway, i just wanted to have a chat with you, you know, communication skills and all."

isabella chuckled. "i get it. i'm really sorry that i made you feel that way, travis, i never tried to hurt you in any way willingly." isabella took one of travis's hand on her own. "i appreciate you a lot," she smiled at him. "as a friend and as a boyfriend, but you're right," she lowered her gaze. "i haven't been myself for quite some time. i think it's best if we just... break up, it's not fair for you."

travis nodded slowly. "yeah," his voice was low.

isabella looked at him with a small smile, her eyes started to glisten. she wrapped her arms around him, and the boy embraced her in a really tight hug.
