Josephine's mother sat silent as the doctor looked at Josephine and shined the light in her eye and examined her.
"Have you ever been this tired or restless before Josephine?'
"No, doctor, never."
"You have a health case know as fatigue, which is unexplained persistent relapsing and exhaustion. You may wake up in the morning feeling like you haven't slept or can not go about your normal daily activities."
"Doctor, I have never had fatigue, I don't understand how I got it."
"She's right doctor, she's been watching what she eats."
The doctor nodded
"Yes, I can see that Josephine's weight is good, but what concerns me is how tired she is Mrs. Washington, and how she barely can keep her eyes awake and open. I want to do some blood tests, and weight out any other possibilities, but at the moment that is what I am guessing this is. In the meantime, go to the lab, and don't tomorrow morning and fast. I want Josephine to go home and get some sleep and some rest until the results come back. In, the mean time, take time off from school and just rest."
"Once, the labs come back my nurse we'll call you. I am going to give Josephine some medicine to help. After the results, I want her to come back and see me. "
"Thank you, Doctor." Josephine and her mother both said as the doctor helped Josephine down.
"He was a nice doctor honey, don't you think?"
"Yes, he was."
"And very handsome."
"Mom!" I said as she was driving the car as we had left, the hospital
"What? He was."
I smiled and laughed with her, and she turned to look at me as she kept her hands on the steering wheel, as the windows were down, and I could feel the breeze.
