Secret Admirer

3. Date.

"You finally have the time to meet me," Kayu heard the gorgeous male across from whom he had taken a seat, say.

The person was none other than Phurin Rachasena aka June, the guy he had been matched to on the dating app. They had been talking and chatting for a while and grew closer over time. But this was the first time they were meeting face to face.

They did plan on meeting earlier but Ciro's sudden disappearance had dumbed a lot of work on Kayu's shoulders leaving him with almost no free time to meet up with June.

"I am so sorry for the delay," Kayu apologized sincerely. "I had to stop by the office on the way here."

As someone who had been working as Ciro's secretary, Kayu had always been very particular about time. He was almost half an hour late and he felt extremely guilty for having made June wait for him.

"That's alright. It's a pleasure to wait for someone as beautiful as you," June winked at him flirtishly.

"Ew. So corny." Kayu cringed. "I am getting goosebumps."

June laughed at Kayu's reaction. Even though it was their first time meeting, he felt no sense of discomfort with Kayu. He had been ill at ease before Kayu came but now that he was there they had a pleasant atmosphere around them.

June's case was similar to that of Kayu's. He too had joined the dating app in an attempt to move on.

While he was studying in university, he started dating a senior student. Everything had been good until that senior decided to drop out of the university to pursue his passion.

June's parents immediately started opposing their relationship. June, who had been madly in love with his senior, left his parents and went to live with his boyfriend.

As a scholarship student, he didn't have to worry about his tuition fees but for the other expenses he had to find his own way. His parents had stopped supporting him. It was around that time he started picking up translator jobs.

With his job, not only he sustained himself, he also supported his boyfriend so that the latter could completely concentrate on his career.

His whole world came crashing down when he caught his boyfriend cheating on him with his ex. He was completely devasted by the incident. He broke up with his boyfriend and moved out of the place they shared.

Thankfully, his parents were willing to take him back in. Or else, he would have killed himself that time.

After the breakup, June never dated anyone. Nor did he ever hooked up. He became more and more reserved.

It was under his cousins' insistence that he created the account in the dating app. When he got matched with Kayu and they started talking, he didn't have much hope. But it was undeniable truth that Kayu had helped him get things straightened up within himself.

"Let's order something. I am really hungry." He urged picking up the menu.

"I can't believe that you chose a fast-food restaurant for over first date." Kayu commented as he went through the menu.

"Why not? Both you and I love fast-food. Its yummy." June replied.

"I have been trying to lose weight."

"Lose weight?" June eyed him from head to toe. "For what? To disappear from the face of earth?" He felt that Kayu was already very skinny and petite and didn't need to lose any more weight.

Kayu made a face at him, making him laugh again.

The two of them placed their orders.

"So, are you starting to have second thoughts about going on dates with me?" June asked.

"What makes you think like that?"

"Nothing. Now that Khun Ciro is single, I thought that maybe you would have second thoughts about me." June knew about Kayu's crush on his boss. 

Kayu himself had told him about it in the beginning.

"What do you mean?" Kayu was confused.

"You didn't know?" June pulled out his phone and showed the pictures of a bride and groom and their wedding ceremony.

"Khun Aya married someone else?" Kayu was shocked. "That explains everything."

It explained why Ciro had been drinking like that that day. 

"Khun Ciro was a total wreck when I saw him the last time. His place was a complete mess. It was as if someone had broken into his place. He had gotten so waste and~" Kayu paused, remembering that his boss had actually kissed him that day.

June noticed this but chose not to say anything about it. "I kind of understand how he feels na. I have been there once. Things like this breaks you from inside. It isn't a surprise that he had gone missing in the past few days."

"I am not having any second thoughts, June." Kayu said firmly.

"But why? Khun Ciri is totally single now na. This is your chance to make your entry into his heart."

"Seriously, June? I am here for a date with you, and you are telling me to chase another guy? Are you trying to piss me off?"

"I just don't want you to regret it later na."

"I know for sure that I am not going regret this." Kayu looked at June. "As long as you don't 'make' me regret this."

"I am willing to give you my heart and soul." June said dramatically.

Kayu gagged at the action.

The food was served.

"On a serious note, why are you so sure that you won't regret not trying your best to win his heart?" June asked while munching on his fries.

"Khun Ciro has no interest in me, June. So, even if Khun Aya is not there with him, he won't choose me. Furthermore, I am resigning from my job." Kayu took a huge bite of his burger.

"You are resigning from your job? Why?"

"No special reason. This job is so stressful, and I want to relax a bit." Kayu put down the burger and took a sip of the coke. "I have enough saving to last me at least for the next five years. I think I should explore other domains a little."

June nodded in acknowledgement. He knew that Kayu was younger than him and the fact that the smaller guy had managed save such a big amount was really impressive. "What are your plans then?"

"I have no actual plan now." Kayu replied. "Even if I submit my resignation, it would take a minimum of three more months for me to get off work. I am sure that I will be able figure something out by then. Like... maybe travelling."

"Wow. Then it is the excellent time to start dating me. I travel a lot." As a translator, June travelled from one country to another, depending on the job he had taken. "I can bring you along with me. I can even be your guide and travel partner. What do you say?"

"Are you asking me to be your boyfriend?" Kayu asked with a chuckle.

"What if I am? I would be a fool not to." June smiled slyly.
