The explanation was awful. Samantha stared at them, wide-eyed and disappointed. "And, we were sorry about it afterwards... Right?" Kane looked at Emily for confirmation. "Right." Emily repeated. "I don't really believe you guys are..." Samantha said slowly. "I am not going to allow you two to go prancing off without the full picture of what you two have done. Follow me." Samantha swiftly turned around and walked towards the gates. The guards quietly said a good luck to Samantha and she grinned at them. Emily and Kane glanced at each other quickly and obeyed. "Okay. The Baron Arald assigned me the responsibility of watching over you two. You guys don't talk much and we are going to fix that. We are going to the nursery today and are going to tell a story. And by us, I mean you two. Alternate between chapters. Perhaps the story I picked out will help. Now while you guys go do that, I am going to make a surprise gift for someone. I trust the kids will take care of you for the time being and report back to me later. Bye!" Samantha walked away without warning and left Emily and Kane standing there, a little dumbstruck. 'Whew!' Samantha thought as she walked out. She gave the gave the guards a high five and walked to the lake. Humming, she climbed the closest tree and opened a book. "I never thought I would read this book..." Samantha murmured as she turned to her page. "Hello up there!" Someone yelled. Samantha almost dropped the book as she turned to see Will Treaty. "Hi...?" She managed. "Hi! Now, where are Emily and Elijah?" He asked. Samantha looked at him. "Well, see... I... Erm... I told them they had to tell a story to the toddlers as punishment for all the kicking and falling and stabbing, so in the Ward, upstairs take a left and second door." Samantha rushed. "Thanks. Oh! And good punishment." Will grinned. Samantha blushed. "Would you mind if I came with?" She asked. "Not at all!" Will said and she jumped down the tree. Once they opened the door Samantha laughed. Emily was singing about a creature called a Narwhal, and Kane was tickling the kids. 'Hard to believe they're 13...' Samantha thought with a chuckle. "I assume they acted accordingly?" Samantha asked Jack. "Yes Sami!" He gasped as Kane stopped tickling him. "Thanks, it worked." Emily smiled as she punched Kane's arm softly. "Good." Samantha replied with a smile. "Gilan needs to see you three." Samantha looked confused. "Three?" "Yes. He wants to talk to Samantha, Kane and Emily. Commandent's orders." Will added. They looked at each other nervously.
"I heard about you showing Emily and Kane the secret library. I am bordering being impressed, curious and disappointed. Why did you go in there in the first place?" Gilan asked. The trio alternated between them in the story. "And that's what happened." Kane muttered. Gilan raised his eyebrows, a look that very much reminded them of Halt. "Well then. I'll make sure you're telling the truth by taking you three to see this Mikey."
"As long as he doesn't kill us in the process." Emily whispered. Samantha looked as if she was about to be walked to her execution. Kane glanced at Emily and Samantha. "So long he doesn't chuck me into the nearest pit of lava!" He almost erupted with fear. Samantha trembled, because she knew he wouldn't, but didn't want to admit how. Then again, what's to lose? She thought. "He won't do that." She croaked. "And why not?" Emily asked, on the verge of suspicion. "Because, he is Kane's brother."
