Kane sprinted back to the forest. Once there, he pulled out his Northseeker and headed to Redmont.
Emily sighed quietly. She had gotten everyone into this trap, and pretty much started a war between Skandia and Araluen. It was sad to think that a war had started between her home and Araluen, because of her absence in Skandia. But then a thought hit her. Malvinic had said that she was Erak's daughter. Maybe there was a way she could stop this.
Kane finally reached Redmont two days later. He ran to Baron Arald. "Baron Arald!" He rasped, having been running so long. "What is it, Kane?" He asked. Kane looked at him for a second. "Somethings wrong. Malvinic has an evil plan to create war between Skandia and Araluen. He has a small army of Wargals, and a Kalkara. And Halt, Will, Gilan, Emily, and Samantha are being held hostage!" He said urgently. Baron Arald stood up immediately. "We need to tell Sir Rodney."
"Where'd he go?" Malvinic said, with a dagger to Emily's throat. "For the millionth time! I don't know!" She said. Malvinic growled and pressed the dagger harder to her throat. Emily looked down at it, but instantly regretted it as the dagger dug deeper. "That's enough! Stop!" Came a voice from behind Malvinic. He turned around to see Samantha. "What do you want?" He asked. Emily saw this as her chance. She punched Malvinic hard in the temple, knocking him out. Emily smiled. "One down, two to go." She said, and tied Malvinic up.
"They're being held hostage?!" Sir Rodney said in surprise. Both Baron Arald and Kane nodded. "Well, we'd better help them! How many Wargals do you say there are, Kane?" Kane shrugged. "About fifty." He said. Sir Rodney nodded. I'll get all my last-year apprentices to come. And I'll go myself." He said. They waited as Sir Rodney walked inside. It was a couple of hours later that he came out with about 70 Battleschool apprentices in their final year. They were wearing full armor, but there was one a little shorter than the rest. "Mikey? You're not in your final year." Kane said, shocked. "No, I'm not, but I'm coming."
Samantha and Emily peered around the corner of the cave. There they saw Jafar and Gerald. They were eating a meal. "Did you hear something?" Jafar said. Gerarld shrugged. Jafar got up out of his chair, and started walking towards the girls, and Gerarld followed. Samantha and Emily turned around and hid behind a ledge. They breathed quietly, and then waited as the men walked right passed them. They ran to where they were eating and Emily pulled out a vial of a liquid. Poison. She poured some of it on Jafar's food and water, and on Gerarld's. They had gotten the poison from where Gerarld was staying. As they walked back to the ledge, Jafar and Gerarld came back, and continued eating their food. Emily and Samantha walked back to where the others were, and told them what happened.
Back in Redmont, the knights were getting ready to leave. They had sent one knight ahead to warn King Horace about the plans. They would be at Gorlan in about three or four days, and then the battle would begin.
