Emily stared at Samantha in surprise. "You mean that Mikey is his brother?!" She whispered, amazed. "Isn't that what I just said?" Samantha said with a smirk. They kept walking until they reached the Battleschool. Will instructed for them to stay there, and went inside to find Sir Rodney. When they came out, they were shortly followed by Mikey. The kid's faces got pale as they watched Mikey walk out. He gave them a cold stare, and then stopped as Will and Rodney did. "So Mikey's been causing you trouble?" Sir Rodney asked. The kids nodded shyly. They all looked at Mikey, who hesitated. "Sir, I only wanted them to-" He started, until Rodney put a hand up to stop him. Samantha lowered her head. "He didn't mean to." She mumbled. Rodney, Emily, Kane, Will, and Mikey all looked at her. "What was that?" Will asked. Samantha looked up and said a little louder, "Mikey didn't mean to." They all gave her puzzled glances except for Emily and Mikey. "He didn't mean to, because Kane is his brother. It's just a simple reaction to be rude to his brother, and Emily and I just happened to be around." She explained. Kane looked to Mikey. They actually did have a lot in common. Blonde hair, blue eyes, and regular height. "Is it true, Mikey?" He asked. Mikey nodded. "I am your brother, we just kept it secret because it was for the best. I can't explain why." Mikey said. "Well, I think we have things settled here!" Will said. "Come on, lets get you three back to the Ward.""Wow..." Was what Halt said as Emily shot a bullseye. It wasn't directly a bullseye, but it was just about a centimeter off. Emily wasn't the best, but certainly good for a Skandian. She would make a good ranger apprentice. It would mean less practice for her. Halt shook his head, their main task was to defeat the Wargals, and then get Emily straight home to Skandia. He watched as another arrow whizzed through the air, and hit a few inches up to the left of the bullseye. Emily glanced at Halt hesitantly. He nodded for her to continue, and she did as she was told.
Skandia
----------------Erak walked back and forth in his office room. After the storm, his ship had been damaged, so they sailed back immediately to Skandia. His boat, Wolfwind, was getting fixed at the dock. He had gotten a letter the day before, saying that Emily was in Araluen. It had been signed off by King Horace, but what it didn't say, was that they meant no harm to Emily. Svengal and Gundar watched nervously as he stormed around. "They captured her!" Erak shouted. Gundar and Svengal shared a glance. "She's probably trapped up in a dungeon right now!" He said angrily. "Uhh... Erak, we do have a peace treaty with Araluen..." Svengal said. "Silence Svengal!" Erak shouted. "What if they took her as a sign of war?" Erak mumbled. There were shocked looks on Svengal's and Gundar's faces as they heard that. Gundar was about to say something, but Erak raised up a hand. "I'll think over this for a few days." He said, stared at Gundar and Svengal, then sighed. "What were you going to say, Gundar?" He asked. Gundar smiled. "We know you have deep feelings for Emily, Erak, but she's just one Skandian, can't we just go over to Araluen and pay whatever ransom they've put on her?" Gundar asked. Erak lowered his head. "We know she's like a daughter to you, Erak, but we just have to stay calm..." Svengal said. Erak looked at him sharply. "She doesn't just feel like a daughter to me." He said. "She is my daughter."
