It was a dark and stormy night. No one had ever seen waves that large. All ships took port and everyone who loved the seas did not dare to go out. And those who were already out were taken by the sea's peculiar storm.

A young girl was found on the beach by a young boy. Her skin was cold and pale. Seaweed tangled in her hair.

"Someone help!" The young boy screamed. There was one other person at the docks that night. A larger man ran toward the scream.

"Young William? What are you doing here in the middle of a..." The sight of the girl left him speechless. "Quick, take her inside. Warm her up."

William carried the girl in his arms through the strong wind and toward his home. He laid her on his small straw bed and covered her with blankets. "What were you doing out there?" William whispered. He watched the girl's eyes flutter open and close as she slipped in and out of consciousness.

William stayed by her side and fought sleep. He watched over the poor girl with the utmost care.
And when the girl jolted awake, so did he. She sat up and rubbed her eyes while she took in the change of scenery. "It is alright," William assured her. He studied her peculiar eyes. They were forest green and decorated with long lush eyelashes. Her skin was a beautiful shade of tan and her drying hair with strands of seaweed was golden blonde. "What's your name?"

She spoke with a small and frightened voice. She searched her memory, but she had very little. Only a name that was whispered to her before she felt as if she was drowning. "Thalassa."

"Thalassa, what a beautiful name. My name is Will," he replied with a friendly tone. "I'll take care of you. I promise."
