Thalassa watched a man jump off a boat and dive into the water to fetch Elizabeth. An eerie wind blew Thalassa's blonde hair. Her fan went flying from her hand but she couldn't care less.

The militia and the governor fled to the docks to save Elizabeth. Thalassa picked up her skirt and followed them.

Elizabeth was laid on the dock and everyone crowded around her. Nessa shoved herself through the men and watched a pirate stand above Elizabeth. HIs hair was long and black. It was knotted and messy and had some dread locks in as well. A bandana covered his forehead and rings decorated his hands. Thalassa looked at him with disgust before she helped Elizabeth to her feet.

"Are you alright?" Nessa asked her friend.

"Yes, I'm fine," Elizabeth shakily answered. The governor placed a coat around her and then glared at the pirate.

"Shoot him," he ordered.

"Father! Commodore, do you really intend to kill my rescuer?" Elizabeth asked. The swords were lowered but the looks of disgust did not disappear.

"I believe a thanks are in order." Norrington held his hand out and the pirate shook it. Then Norrington grabbed his arm and raised his sleeves to reveal a brand. "Had a brush with the East India Trading Company, did we, pirate?" He looked at a tattoo on the pirates arm and smirked. "Well, well. Jack Sparrow, isn't it?"

"Captain Jack Sparrow, if you please, sir," Jack corrected him. He yanked his hand back and cleared his throat.

"I don't see your ship, Captain."

"I'm in the market, as it were."

"These are his, sir," a guard gave Norrington a handful of items.

"A gun with one bullet and a compass that doesn't point north. You are without doubt the worst pirate I've ever heard of."

"Ah, but you have all heard of me, haven't you?" Jack said with a smirk. While the militia nodded their heads, Thalassa and Elizabeth shook their heads.

Norrington grabbed Jack and began dragging him across the dock.

"Commodore, I really must protest!" Elizabeth called after him. "Pirate or not, this man saved my life."

Nessa studied Jack. She loved the sea, she was always drawn to it, but pirates disgusted her...or at least...they were supposed to disgust her. It was what society decided: pirates were disgusting.

Jack studied Thalasssa. There was something  about her that was strange. He had never seen a woman so put together, so pure of beauty. Her beauty was effortless. There was also something strange about her, a strange feeling he got when he looked at her.

"One good deed does not redeem a man of a lifetime of wickedness," Norrington said.

"Though it seems enough to condemn him," said Jack.

"Indeed," Norrington angrily hissed at Jack. He didn't like the way he was looking at Thalassa. He saw greed in the pirates eyes.

"Finally," Jack whispered once his hands were released. He grabbed Thalassa's neck with the chains that bound his hands. Everyone gasped and cocked their guns.

"No, don't shoot!" shouted Elizabeth.

"You're a beautiful little lass, aren't you?" Jack whispered into Nessa's ear.

"Filthy pirate," Nessa snapped at him.

"Commodore Norrington, my effects please. And my hat," Jack requested.

Norrington looked into Thalassa's unusual eyes. She did not look frightened, just upset. "Norrington! Please!" Elizabeth shouted.

"Give them to the girl," Jack said with a smirk. Norrington took the handful of belongings and placed them in Nessa's arms. Jack turned her around and kept his arms around her. "If you'll be very kind." With the two in close quarters, Thalassa placed his hat on his head and tightened his belt around his waist. She placed the gun in the holster and attached the compass as well. "What is your name, luv?" Jack whispered to her. Thalassa looked up at him with her brows furrowed.

"Thalassa," she answered. "And don't call me luv."

"That's a very lovely name...luv," Jack smirked at her and stroked her long blonde hair.

Nessa slapped his hand away. She found him annoyingly handsome. Jack spun her back around and held his arms behind her back. "Gentleman, ladies, you will always remember this as the day that you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow!" He pushed Thalassa int Norrington and swung on the rope of the noose to a ship. He ran down the dock onto the beach. The militia chased him and shot at him.

"Nessa, are you alright?" Elizabeth asked her.

"I'm...I'm fine," Nessa answered. She watched the pirate run with the military on his tail. "Filthy pirate," she whispered. "Come, Elizabeth, let's get you warmed up." With their arms around each other, Thalassa and Elizabeth trekked back to the carriage.
