So it turns out I was Everest's new tutor. It was a week since I started helping him with his homework, and we still go to that diner occasionally, but now he just gives me twenty dollars. But I mean, I don't really care about the money, I would have stopped helping him after the third time but it helped me stay away from home.

My house was interesting. My dad was very aggressive, if he wasn't yelling at the football game, he was yelling at me, my sister, or my mom, never to my brother though, me and my sister used to be close, but we fell apart. The same with my brother, in fact when we were kids we were practically inseparable. But when my brother started showing more interest in sports, my dad kinda pulled us away.

It feels like the only reason I'm still acknowledged in that household is because I'm "above average intelligence for my age." If I didn't have my grades, I highly doubt my dad would even look at me.

"Vince? Vince? Blondie!?" I heard Everest voice call.

"Yeah, sorry I uh...I zoned out for a second. What's up?"

"I need help with seven, how do you make a fraction again."

I sighed, and helped him solve the question. Everest wasn't dumb, but he definitely had his moments. By the time I left the library, I was exhausted. I yawned as I walked to my car, I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Blondie, are you just going to leave your jacket and bag or...?"

I looked at Everest, he held my book bag and sweater in his hand. "Oh, shit. Sorry." I yawned again. All that studying until midnight was catching up to me.

"Blondie, you look... How do I say this in a nice way." He looked me up and down. "Well you look like a literal corpse. I'm driving you home."

"No-yawn- I can do it."

He picked me up, how the fuck did he do that, and put me in the passenger seat. He sat in the driver's seat and turned it on. As we drove my eye sight turned blurry, then black.

Everest

When I parked in his driveway, I looked over. Vince had fell asleep, his wavy blonde hair brushed over the bridge of his nose. He needed a haircut. His pink lips had a bit of drool falling from them. I couldn't help but chuckle, I looked around and found a napkin and wiped his lips.

I got out and went to pick him up. When I reached for him, he turned away. Seems like you avoid me even in sleep Blondie. I picked him up, bridal style and held his bag and jacket with my pinky.

I threw him over my shoulder and knocked on the black door. I was met with a man, about six foot. He had dark brown hair with some white and gray sprinkled along with it.

"Who are you?" He voice was stern, it must suck to live with him.

"Hi, I'm Everest. Vince tutors me, he fell asleep, so I just decided to bring him in—"

"Okay, I don't care. His rooms the first one on the left."

Okay asshole, no need to be so rude. I followed his directions and opened the door, a girl, about seventeen sat on her bed writing. The contrast between the two halves was shocking.

I nodded to her and laid him on his bed, wow Blondie, I wouldn't expect you to like Korn, I thought you would be more into pop music. I smiled to myself before walking out.

As I walked home I thought about Vince, even though he was drooling, he looked kinda cute when he was sleeping. It was a definite improvement then the frown and knitted eyebrows that always seemed to haunt his face. I couldn't help but wonder what was up with his dad. He was so dismissive of Vince, he seemed annoyed by his presence. Weird

Vince

I knew something had happened because my sister had a grin on her face, "What happened?"

She chuckled, "Your boyfriend brought you in last night, he met dad," She teased.

"He's not my boyfriend."

She gave and exaggerated "okay," and went downstairs. When I went to follow her, I tripped over something. While stumbling I looked behind me. It was my jacket and bag, the fuck Everest, you just threw them on the floor?

I picked up my stuff and put it on my bed, I was about get ready for school when I remembered it was cancelled due to snow. I sighed, fuck my life. Snow days were the worst, if I complained about being cold, my dad would be all like, "If you keep complaining you can go outside, you're lucky you have a house-blah blah blah." But if it was my brother he'd turn up the heater immediately.

I wouldn't say I resent my brother, I mean sometimes I'm jealous of him, he gets along with people so easily, Alex had to ask to become friends because I was to scared. Dad would give his left leg if Derick asked him to, but that's not his fault.

I saw my mother, she was talking with my sister, Erin, while they cooked. My dad was talking with my brother about football, or something. I sat on the kitchen stool and scrolled on my phone, I got a text from someone random number.

Hey, it's Everest, I'm bored, wanna hangout?

How did you get my number?

Alex gave it to me :3

Fine, gives me something to do.

I'll pick you up in a second.

A few minutes later there was a knock on the door I threw on my coat and went outside, I saw my mother glance at me but she didn't say anything.

There was Everest, with his stupid grin, he held a helmet in his hand and gave it to me. "Wait, you drive a motorcycle? In this weather?"

"It's the only vehicle I have."

"If I die it's your fault."

He let out a low chuckle, God he's annoying. I struggled to put the helmet on, he grabbed my face put it on for me. I could tell his was struggling to not laugh by the way he was shaking. I punched him softly and got on the bike. It was slightly worn but it added to its appearance, he started it and I quickly wrapped my arms around him.

"Aww, scared?" His stupid voice muffled by the helmet, if he wasn't wearing it I would and flicked his forehead.

"Just drive."

"So mean." He started driving, the rush was amazing, it was like you were in a roller coaster and you just went down the hill. Your heart beating in your chest, fear and excitement mixed together, I loved it.

"Where are we even going?"

"You'll see."

I held onto him tighter, looking at the snowy scene in front of me, taking in some warmth from him.
