: ̗̀➛ Alice paced back and forth in her room, her agitation palpable. She knew Oliver would come. He always did. But today, she didn't want him to. Not with this storm raging inside her.
Oliver knocked softly on her door, a hesitant gesture that betrayed his usual confidence. "Alice? Can I come in?"
She hesitated for a moment before unlocking the door, letting him in. Oliver stepped inside, his eyes immediately finding hers. "What's wrong?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.
Alice looked away, unable to meet his gaze. "Nothing. I'm fine."
Oliver closed the door behind him and approached her slowly. "You know you can talk to me, right? Whatever it is, I'm here."
Alice's frustration bubbled over, her temper flaring. "You can't always fix everything, Oliver!" she snapped, her voice sharp with emotion.
Oliver raised his hands in surrender, his expression hurt. "I know, but I can try. Just tell me what's bothering you."
"It's you!" Alice exclaimed, her voice breaking. "It's always you, Oliver! You waltz in here with your snarky comments and playful attitude, acting like nothing in the world could ever touch you. But I... I can't do that. I can't be like you."
Oliver took a step closer, his voice soft. "Alice, what are you talking about?"
Tears welled up in Alice's eyes as she looked at him, her voice barely a whisper. "I... I don't want to hurt you, Oliver. But I'm afraid that's all I'm capable of."
Oliver reached out, gently wiping away her tears with his thumb. "You could never hurt me, Alice. I know you better than anyone. And I'm not going anywhere."
Alice shook her head, her resolve crumbling. "You should. You should run as far away from me as you can. Before it's too late."
Oliver's grip on her hand tightened, his voice firm. "I'm not going anywhere, Alice. Not now, not ever. I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
Alice looked into his eyes, searching for any sign of hesitation. But all she found was unwavering determination. And maybe, just maybe, a glimmer of hope.
Alice wiped away her tears, her heart heavy with conflicting emotions. "You don't understand, Oliver. I'm dangerous. I don't want to hurt you."
Oliver's expression softened, his voice filled with sincerity. "Alice, I know you're scared. But you're not alone. We'll figure this out together."
Alice shook her head, her voice trembling. "You don't get it! I'm not like you. I'm not... good."
Oliver took a step closer, his eyes never leaving hers. "You're good enough for me, Alice. I trust you."
Alice's resolve wavered, torn between her fear of hurting him and her desperate need for his reassurance. "But what if I can't control it? What if I hurt you?"
Oliver reached out, gently cupping her face in his hands. "Then we'll figure it out together. I'm not afraid, Alice. Not of you."
Alice felt her walls crumbling, the weight of her fears lifting just a little. "You should be," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
But Oliver shook his head, his gaze unwavering. "I'm not. Because I know you, Alice. And I believe in you."

For the first time in a long time, Alice allowed herself to hope. Maybe, just maybe, she wasn't as alone as she thought.
The room fell into a heavy silence, broken only by the sound of their breathing. Alice closed her eyes, leaning into Oliver's touch, craving the comfort he offered.
Oliver's voice was gentle, a soothing balm to her troubled mind. "Tell me what you're afraid of, Alice. Let me help you."
Alice hesitated, the words caught in her throat. But Oliver's unwavering support gave her the courage to speak. "I'm afraid of what I might do. To you. To anyone who gets too close."
Oliver's grip on her face tightened ever so slightly, his eyes searching hers. "You won't hurt me, Alice. I trust you."
Tears welled up in Alice's eyes as she looked at him, her heart aching with longing. "You shouldn't," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
But Oliver just shook his head, his gaze unwavering. "I do. Because I know you. And I believe in you."
Alice's resolve crumbled, the weight of her fears lifting with each word he spoke. "But what if I can't control it? What if I lose control and..." Her voice trailed off, unable to voice the unspeakable.
Oliver's expression softened, his thumb gently wiping away her tears. "Then we'll figure it out together, Alice. I'm not going anywhere."
