'It's never over'
- Lover, You Should've Come Over, Jeff Buckley

Atlas groans as he sits up from his bed. His chest was in agony, still feeling the pain from tearing out Stephanie's heart. The pounding on his door rattled through his brain as he dragged himself to the front door.
Atlas swung the door open with a glare as Scott stands in front of him. "You look like shit."
"Thanks McCall" Atlas answers with a scoff as he moves away from the door, silently inviting Scott inside. "You're doing wonders for my self esteem right now."
Scott follows the boy inside, shutting the door behind him. "Are you feeling any better?"
Atlas sighs as he moves to sit on the kitchen island. "Just a bit of pain every now and again. It'll dull after a few hours."
Scott looks around the room before looking up to the ceiling, obviously trying to listen for Liams heartbeat. "Where's Liam?"
"After I showered last night I told him to leave" Atlas answers with a sigh. "His mum called wondering where he was because he missed dinner. I didn't want to get him in shit because of me."
"Did you sleep okay?" Scott questions as he jumps up on the opposite counter, mirroring Atlas' position.
Atlas shrugs as he breaks eye contract with Scott, looking down to his fingers which are fidgeting with his ring. "Sort of."
"Atlas" Scott sighs as he runs a hand through his hair. "You should've gone with Liam. He would've been able to comfort you."
"It wasn't that" Atlas admits, still not looking up to meet Scott's gaze. "I was scared. I was scared that she was going to come back. Being with Liam wouldn't have changed that, I would've stared at the ceiling all night. It would've made it worse with him here."
"Did you have a vision?" Scott asks.
"No" Atlas answers. "I just didn't believe that she could truly be dead. After five hundred years I thought it would've taken a lot more to kill her."
Scott smiles sympathetically at the younger boy, "It didn't take a lot to kill your parents either. Maybe she was good at avoiding death."
"She knew that Liam had the necklace" Atlas tells the alpha, running a hand through his hair, tugging at the roots. "I am scared that she is going to go after him to get to me, or go after me to get to him. She knew where I hid it."
"She's dead Atlas" Scott pleads. "Stephanie isn't coming back. You're safe." The pair sit in a comfortable silence for a few moments before Scott speaks up again, "I know something that might make you feel better" Scott smirks. "My dad called and told me to tell you that Jordan and Will are on their way to prison."
Atlas looks up at Scott with wide eyes and a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "Holy shit."
"They're going to be in there for the rest of their lives. My dad said your statement gave the extra push they needed to take the pair of them down for good. Jordan and Will have been on the cops radar for months because of dealing and gang behaviour."
Atlas looks down at his hands and fidgets with his family ring. "Any closer to getting Stiles back?"
Scott lets out an exhausted sigh, "Theo's plan was a bust."
"Well it's Theo" Atlas shrugs with a smirk, "what more were you expecting?"
Scott runs a hand through his hair. "Maybe I had a tiny bit of faith that it would work. Theo or not."
