'We're coming undone'

Atlas pulls the chain off, staring at the stone as he holds it in his hand. Liam watches him in confusion as he leans back onto his headboard. Atlas seems to be considering something for a moment until he looks up at his boyfriend, "turn around."
Liam stares back at him in confusion before he turns around, his back to Atlas. Atlas climbs onto his bed and moves to sit behind Liam, he pulls the chain around his neck before doing up the clasp.
Atlas let his hands linger on Liams neck for a moment before he moves back, allowing Liam to turn back around. Liam looks down at the necklace that hangs from his neck before looking back to Atlas, "Atlas-"
"Liam I want you to have it" Atlas interrupts, smiling. "It'll protect you."
"But what about you?"
"I can protect myself. Stephanie is going to come after me for that necklace because I don't want to go with her, it's safer if the necklace is with you."
"Atlas she could kill you."
"Not if I kill her first. If she tries anything, anything at all, I will kill her. She said that I look like my father, well I'm going to show her just how much I act like him too."
Liam then takes in Atlas' appearance, he looked like he hadn't slept in days, his hair was dragged back but still looked messy, his neck had blood across it (obviously from when he was thrown across the field), his face was covered in mud (also from when he was thrown across the field).
"I think if your father looked like this, I would've fallen in love with him too" Liam chuckles as he moves forward, pulling Atlas in for a kiss.

Atlas rolls onto his side as he stares back at Liam, Liam smiles at him as he brushes a curly strand out of the boys face. "What are you thinking about?" Liam asks, he stares back at Atlas with soft eyes. "You haven't slept."
Atlas is the one to break eye contact as he looks down to the Jackson family necklace that was around Liams neck. Something about that made Atlas feel warm inside, Liam wearing his family necklace with pride, letting the boy know that Liam didn't care what Atlas' parents had done during their lives.
"My dad, my mum" Atlas answers, making eye contact with Liam again. "I know what everyone in this town thinks about my family. My parents were well educated, both had good jobs but something went wrong and they disappeared off the face of the earth until I came back."
"But?" Liam questions.
"Gerard Argent forced them out of town" Atlas states, sighing. "They could've fought, hell that's what my parents were good at. They had the people that would've fought with them but they didn't want anyone to die for their cause. They didn't want me to die. So instead they left town without telling anyone, they just disappeared."
"So what were you thinking about?"
"Well how much I want to kick Gerard in the balls and rip his heart out but also what would've happened if we didn't leave. Would many people died? What would my life be like now? Would I be wrapped up in all of this bullshit?"
"Would we be together?"
Atlas sighs as he runs a hand through his hair, "I thought about that one a lot in rehab."
"What do you think?"
"I think we waste too much time wondering about the what ifs in life."
"But you're thinking about them?" Liam chuckles.
