Chapter 21

It's been a week since Meghan has moved in with me and things are going great so far. Our cleaning habits are pretty on par and the only thing I have annoyed her about is leasing my dirty clothes on the floor next to the laundry basket, which is fair in my opinion. So far nothing has annoyed me about her but I'm also pretty laid back. I'm going to girls night with Loren tonight and Meghan is going out with one of her friends from work.

"So how are things going" Loren asks. I smile "It's really great so far. I really love having her live with me." She asks if Meghan is happy so far too and I tell her as far as I know she's happy. I get my usual whiskey and Coke and steak dinner. "Do you eat anything else" Loren laughs. I smirk and tell her Meghan has me eating all kinds of different things but I like most of it. "Kevin to this day eats like a child...I just make what I want to eat some nights and let him and the boys eat what he's making" she laughs. I chuckle at that "I'm not that bad at least." I pick up the bill this week and we agree to eat dinner same time next week together.

I unlock the apartment door and walk in to a dimly lit living room with candles on the coffee table. I walk around the couch and nearly faint at the sight of Meghan. She has on white lingerie, white stockings, and white high heels. In her had she has a glass of red wine and a devilish grin on her face. "Holy shit" I say about to make my way to her. She raises a hand and stops me and points to the table behind me. I follow her silent instructions and go to the table. I take the lid off the red box and see a pair of boxers and red suspenders. The suspenders confuse me but I go into the bathroom and put it on. I lay the suspenders over my nipples and attach them to the black boy short boxers she got me. In the bottom of the box is an unexpected surprise...a strap toy. I realize quickly what the boxers are meant for.

I put the toy in the boxers and look at myself in the mirror. As a masculine woman I don't look bad I just hope she still finds this sexy. I enter the living room again and Meghan raises an eyebrow "Damn baby...You look hotter than I thought you would. Come over here and kiss me." I do as I'm told and when I say Meghan kisses me roughly it's an understatement. I can tell just how incredibly turned on she is from that first kiss and it instantly gets me turned on. "What do you want baby" I whisper in her ear. I begin teasing her with the toy at her core and she moans deeply. "You sure this is what you want" I whisper to her. She elicits a throaty moan and I know the answer to the question I stated.

A few hours later we are cuddling in our bed and I couldn't be happier if I tried. Her arms are wrapped around me as she lays with her head on my chest. I kiss the top of her head gently "I am so in love with you Meghan." She leans up and looks me in my eyes "I love you with all my heart." I kiss her gently and hold her in my send until we fall asleep.

I wake up to Meghan packing a suitcase and I'm horrified "Meghan are you leaving?" She says nothing and then I realize she's packing clothes for me "Babe...why are you packing my clothes?" She zips up the suitcase and kisses me deeply. I stay still because I'm still not sure what she's doing. "So I talked with Loren and please don't be mad...but you are leaving for Africa today. Mike said you can go for one month instead of three and still get to experience this research opportunity." I go to say something but I'm speechless honestly and then I realize that's what last night was all about!

"Meghan I don't want to leave you or my band for that matter" I plead. She cuts me off "Korie...I talked with your band already! This is an opportunity you will regret if you don't do! I'll be here when you get back and I'm coming to see you in two weeks. I spoke with my hospital and I'll be coming to the village near the national park you'll be at and doing surgeries on children in need and basic health care for the village." I realize I have no argument and give up trying to fight this "How did I get so lucky?" She smiles and kisses me "It's just because I fell in love with a sexy singer with a good heart." I laugh and get ready to fly to Africa. Mike texts me the details and the name of the lady picking me up at the airport which is Karla.

I recognize the name immediately as the person I have been emailing for the past few years about the donations we've sent and things needed for the EPP (Elephant Protection Program). It'll be nice to meet her in person finally after all these years. We get to the gate at the airport and I can't help but cry because Loren and the boys came to say goodbye to me as well. Loren hugs me tight "You've got a good woman on your hands. She set this entire thing up! We will see you when you return. I love you and take care of yourself okay!" I am full on crying now and they just called my group to board the plane. I hugs Meghan tightly and kiss her gently "I love you. I'll see you in two weeks." She lets a few tears fall and the sight breaks my heart. Loren holds her hand and tells me to go before I never leave. "I love you guys" I call out before boarding the plane. They all yell they love me too and then they disappear from my sight as I board the plane.

Eighteen hours later I land in South Africa and am greeted at the gate by Karla holding a sign so my name on it. She looks like a typical African park ranger with khaki shorts, a button up shirt, and a ball cap. She is tan with dirty blonde hair and slightly shorter than I am. "You must be Korie! It's great to finally meet you" she shakes my hand kindly. We pick up my checked bag and begin our drive to the park. "Are you excited for this journey with us" Karla asks. I smile and tell her I'm extremely excited to be here and can't wait to learn from them and be apart of the team for a little while.

Karla and I talk the entire way to the park so we can get to know one another. Her accent is pretty cute and I think she's a pretty cute person in general. My heart belongs to Meghan of course but I am not blind. "So how has the poaching been lately" I ask. Karla looks kind of defeated "It's been a struggle keeping up with them. But we've not lost an elephant on our reserve in the past twenty two days." I ask her why she looks so sad and she states that she only has four other rangers on the reserve right now and it's been tiring for them. It's hard to find people who want to risk their lives daily to fight poachers.

I yeah her I hope I can be of help and she pets me on the shoulder "The team is going to love you. I can tell." Once we arrive to the ranger base I am escorted to my room by Karla. I tell her if it's okay I'd like to get some sleep because I'm exhausted from the plane ride. She nods and leaves me alone to rest. I get on my phone and message Meghan telling her I love her and that I made it safely to the reserve. We are seven hours ahead of America and I know she's asleep currently. I quickly fall asleep since I am truly exhausted from traveling.
