April shut the front door her head hung low as she stepped further into her home. The enticing smell of whatever was cooking in the kitchen reached her nose instantly. Dropping her keys into the bowl by the door she shifted over to the kitchen and hardly blinked noticing a romantic dinner being set up by Rachel and Malcolm. "Interrupting something?" She asked tiredly leaning against the door frame.

"Yes." Malcolm muttered.

"No. Of course not, sweetheart. Sit down." Rachel said shifting the plates around and putting another on the end for her. April shrugged off her bag and placed it on the end of her chair as she slumped down in front of the plate.

"You sure I'm not interrupting?" April raised her eyebrow at the teriyaki chicken and rice sitting before her.

"No." Malcolm cleared his throat sitting up in his chair eyes on Rachel who didn't say a word sitting opposite him. "It's fine. But why are you home so early?" He asked his daughter.

"Cook set the school on fire." April deadpanned biting into her chicken.

"Oh." The two voiced knowing about Cook and his wild birthday party that has brought April back to life.

"Okay, let's cut the bullshit, Dad. What is this? I've interrupted your date night so what's wrong?" April sighed heavily.

"April - language!" Rachel told her sharply.

"Seriously, what have I done now?" April folded her arms over her chest and looked between Rachel and her father.

"Nothing." Rachel said.

"Well, Dr Best called to check in with your progress and they'd love to hear from you."

"They said I'm better." April said quickly.

"We know, honey but maybe you should make another appointment with them just to talk about your progress and any issues you might be facing." Malcolm said cautiously tiptoeing around his daughter afraid of what would happen if she went over the edge again.

"I knew it." April sighed leaning back in her chair. A hand ran through her dark hair as she bit her lip in thought. First Freddie and now this.

"April." Rachel said. April gave her a blank look. "Is there something you want to talk about?" She asked.

"You know you can always talk to us, honey." Malcolm said.

April blew the air out of her cheek tapping her fork against the plate a small strip of chicken dangled off the end. Should she ask them? Would they understand? "Fine, okay. Er...how did you know that you liked each other?" She hesitantly asked.

"Why?" Rachel drawled eyebrows wriggling suggestively at her.

"Okay forget it." April all but threw her fork down and pulled her chair back causing it to create a piercing scrape on the floor.
