April opened her eyes and like a bolt of lightning, she was slapped in the face with Roundview's delinquent children returning for another year of learning. Friends reunited and went on about their summers ignoring the underlying tension felt by the sudden death of the dead angel. April had hidden in the corner of the room, though it wasn't far enough, the rest of her friend group gathering around trying to cheer her up. No one wanted to see April go back to the dark place they'd seen her claw her way out of last year.  "April?" Freddie squeezed her shoulders tenderly.

"What?" April asked, her eyes distant and cold as she tried to focus on what had happened around her instead of the blood-spattered fallen angel that had haunted her mind.

"JJ's showing us his magic trick." Emily said helping her to understand what she was looking at.

"Magic." April sighs, rubbing the back of her neck tiredly. JJ smiles as he performs his card trick again just for her. April hardly notices as she watches Cook speaking with Thomas, the African boy seemed to be the only one bothered by the fallen angel as she was. April understood - it had happened at his club, on his night as the club DJ. The club had been way overcapacity and drugs were being sold left, right and centre. Not to mention all of them were technically underaged. It was a fucked up situation and April couldn't just pretend to be okay after seeing someone commit in front of her.

"You!" A loud voice made April's eyes snap to the new person standing in the room then Cook beside her with an unlit cigarette in his mouth. "Yes? Would you mind awfully not smoking? Thank you." Cook put the cigarette away as the room turned to the man.

"Just thought that I pop down and say: Hi I'm David Blood, Your new college director. And. I'm saying "Hi".

"What happened to Harriet?" Freddie asked raising his hand off April's shoulder.

"Harriet's... moved on." Mr Blood said.

"Why?" Emily asked, curiously.

"Because, because, because...Well, let me see. How I can put this... Because this place is rubbish And so are you.
So now...We are all about "Change".Everything is going to change. We'll all do it together yes? We can change...
And if any of you find that difficult, I want you to know that...I will find you. I will interrogate you I will expel you. I will expunge you.

April tried not to roll her eyes, Professor Blood sounded just like Dr Best whenever April actually took her therapy sessions seriously. The more people spoke about changing the harder, change is.

"Great. Doug has an announcement, it's very important. So I know we will listen carefully, otherwise... it's rude! Isn't it, Doug?"

"Yes, of course it is, David." Doug said awkwardly beside him.

"Professor Blood."
"Professor...Yes So... Welcome back, everyone. Oggy, oggy, oggy!" Doug chanted to no return call making him sigh. "Great, lovely. And I am afraid the police would like to interview you all." Doug announced, to murmurs from the confused students.

April's hand instantly grabbed Freddie's as she tried to ground herself against what was happening. Freddie glanced at her worriedly pressing a kiss to her hair, reassuring her that it would be okay.

"This is fucked up. We didn't even know the girl Why are they treating us like criminals?" Emily complained as they all waited in the gym to be called forward. April had taken to biting off her nails to keep calm, Freddie having to stop her before she bit off her entire nail.

"Because she is dead. And we were there." JJ offered to Emily an explanation.

"So? That doesn't make us responsible if some kid decides to off herself. Right Naomes? Naomes?" Naomi snapped out of whatever she had been thinking.

"Yeah, it's f*cked up."

April Driscoll

April froze, her palms digging into her hands as she looked at Freddie in fear. "Hey. You did nothing wrong. You'll be fine. April, you are going to be fine. You didn't even know the girl. Remember that you did nothing wrong." April gulps hard slowly pulling away from him and over to the detectives.

What's with April, Freds?" Katie asked noticing how April was trembling like a leaf as she walked over to the police officers.

"She's blaming herself. It's fucked."

"But she didn't even know the girl." Emily pointed out.

"She still blames herself for not stopping it. I don't know what else to do but keep reminding her it wasn't her fault."

"Christ. This is all so fucked." Naomi sighs seeing April fidgeting. "If she keeps on like that they'll think she did something to the girl." Freddie sighs.

"Hey, Freds. Have you heard from her?" Emily said trying to relieve the tension as they watched April.

"Who?" Freddie glances at Emily briefly, knowing who she meant.

"The Empress Cleopatra, who do you think?" Emily asked sarcastically and Freddie shook his head.

"No."

"Thought she might just show up, you know?" Emily shrugs.

"Yeah. Well, she didn't." Freddie said seeing April run out of the gym. He sighs walking after her.

"I touched a nerve." Emily said, softly.

"Guys, you've got to not talk about Effy." JJ said watching Freddie go after April.

"Why? She really fucked Freddie over."

"No, we're just not going there. I mean, me, Cook and Freds, we're getting through it." JJ told her.

"She dumped you all?" Katie asked.

"Kind of. Effy's gone and we're happy. The status of the tribe is protected. We're happy, right?" JJ smiles looking around the group.

"Good. As long as we're all happy." Emily says as she glances around the group as well - no one looking very happy at the moment.

April burst into the girls' bathroom and locked herself in the disabled stall, her knees forcing her over the toilet as she vomited. She coughs as she wipes her mouth as she sits on the cool floor.

April had looked guilty in front of the police. She knew they'd come back to interview her again. April was going away. They'd come and take her away again. April had tried so hard to remember what Freddie had told her to say because it was the truth but when she'd sat before the police all she did was fidget and make herself look more suspicious.

Maybe it was for the best. She'd let the dead angel fall. She'd let her jump. April could've saved her. April rests her head against the stall, the faint white bracelets- her battle scars had finally started burning again.

A warning.

They were coming for her now.

Run!

April unlocked the stall door and nearly tripped over her feet seeing the blood-splattered angel. Her white dress was stained with blood, the ruby liquid ran down her head and soaked her dark hair. She stared back at her with dead unseeing eyes.

April let out a scream as she hit the ground, and scrambled back into the stall staring at the girl - the dead angel. She screamed until she felt arms around her and she inhaled the familiar smell of aftershave, and smoke from spliffs that kept her tethered to this earth. Freddie was here. Not the angel.

Freddie would keep her safe.

He'd keep them away...for now
