Floods of sound surrounded her, as the music took hold pulling her this way and that. Her eyes were closed in concentration on the person behind her, their hands running over her body in time with the music. A lazy smile spread around her face as the roar of the club flooded her senses again, loud pounding music shook her body as the shouts of the debauched teenagers crammed into the small club, alcohol flowing and lines being snorted in the bathroom. It was teenage paradise - a heart of darkness and debauchery and the delinquent teenagers loved it. They loved the euphoric atmosphere as they spent one last night before the world called them again.
April laughed, her body moving to the beat, a primal desire overtaking her as she lost herself in the highs of both the drugs and alcohol flowing through her system. She didn't even know who was currently grinding and running their hands all over her but she enjoyed it nonetheless. She'd been locked up in a golden cage by Jeanne, whisking her off to Thailand - where she'd apparently fucked off to nine years ago and had made the argument that April needed a break from Bristol and let her take April to Thailand to find herself.
All April had found was that Thai drugs were incredibly easy to procure and did things that regular old drugs from Bristol couldn't. April laughed as she was spun around by whoever was behind her and then the picture became clear - Freddie stood behind her looking up at her with nothing but desire. April had spent most of her highs in Thailand imagining Freddie was with her and holding her just like this.
"I really fucking love you." Freddie said, leaning over her ear so she could hear him over the music. April smiled leaning up and pressing a kiss to his lips gently, her arms holding him tightly as if she let go then she'd wake up from the dream she'd found herself in. She'd been through hell to be with Freddie and now she had it and wasn't about to let him go.
The air around her shifted. Her perfect world ended with an earth-shattering thud. April's world ended at the sight of a girl like an angel in white, as she fell from the balcony to the ground, streams of red stained her head and the blood. April swallowed the vomit threatening to rise as she stared at the fallen angel - the angel who'd broken through her delusion of normalcy. It was over. It was all over.
The next few moments happened in a flash. A crowd gathered around the dead angel, as cries of horror were drowned out by the pounding bass line, which mimicked her erratic heartbeat, Freddie's hands around her waist pulled her away from the crowd, her eyes never leaving the blood-spattered angel, her lifeless body imprinted on her eyelids as the crowd grew fainter and fainter, the rush of fresh air hit her as she was pulled away and the wail of sirens woke her up to Freddie's reassurance that everything was okay.
It didn't matter. The angel was dead.
Her perfect world ended with a solid thud on the ground, blood running from her veins into the club floor.
April passed out, the second Freddie had gotten her home. Freddie sat with her, his hands running through her hair, trying to reassure himself that April was okay. He knew she'd overreact in the morning and do something drastic, maybe even stupid.
After three months of her being gone in Thailand, Freddie had hoped she'd get better, she seemed better when she appeared on his doorstep last week, smiling widely, her eyes bright and happy. April had looked better than when he'd first met her, she was happy and healthy, and she didn't black out or say things that made Freddie scared of what she would do to herself.
Freddie had been so happy that she was back and had locked her away in a cage of happiness all week, he hadn't anticipated what would happen when April woke up to be let out of the cage, he'd built around her to keep her safe. Freddie had worried about April, especially after her Bonnie and Clyde tour with Cook ended with her approaching him, her arms had scars, blood dripping from her severed veins and when he'd brought her home, she'd locked herself in her house until her mother returned and took her away to Thailand. He worried. April still hadn't gotten a new phone after destroying her last one, when she'd run off with Cook and so for three months he'd been in a state of limbo waiting for her to come back.
Now he finally had April back, but this girl's death was going to affect her more than it probably should. It was just the type of person April was. April cared too much and would blame herself for not helping the girl before she'd jumped, April would continue to blame herself until it consumed her and he'd lose her again. Freddie couldn't risk it. He had to keep her safe. He loved her. He couldn't lose April again.
April jolts awake, screaming in agony. Freddie nearly fell off her bed, her arms going around her body, holding her close. April trembled and wailed into his chest, her eyes and fists clenched against his chest, her salty tears staining his shirt that she gripped desperately, looking for something to ground herself again. They were back. The voices were back. This time the blood-spattered angel, was there. Blood ran down her beautiful pale face, eyes lifeless, her white virginal dress was marked with red blood, her sons laid bare and she blamed her. She could've saved her. April could've saved the blood-spattered angel. It was her fault.
Freddie just held her, reassuring her that she'd be okay, his hand stroking her limp hair. Freddie knew it was over. Just like their first kiss together had brought life back to her. This dead girl had dragged her back into darkness. Freddie could see it clear as day.
April was once again dead.

A/N: Happy Halloween! 🎃👻☠️
Whoo a long Hiatus but I'm back now. Last few weeks have been so busy, plus a case of major writer's block coupled with like a week of sickness due to autumn hay fever and you know why I didn't update.
But I'm back now and what do you think? I've missed April so much and couldn't stay away for long so get ready for Skins Season Four - it's going to be a roller coaster.
In the meantime check out visualvis / Loom's Skins story cause it's the only thing - other than writing the next chapter, I look forward to every day. Plus they're just that good of an author 🙂 and give them a follow too. 🖤
