Jasper and Christina arrived at the cabin almost 2 hours after school ended for the day. The cabin has 3 bedrooms. One for Jasper and Christina's, one for Clayton and Alice's, and the other is a spare, mostly used for storage. Christina unlocked the door, and Jasper ran their bags into their bedroom.
"This was a good idea. It's nice to get away. Just the two of us." Christina says.
"It sure is darlin'. This place looks to still be in good shape." Jasper says while inspecting the house
"It's not surprising. The four of us came and fixed it up 5 years ago. Let's get the sheets off the furniture. Then maybe snuggle up together and read by the fire?" Christina suggests wrapping her arms around Jasper's waist.
"That sounds wonderful darlin'." Jasper says before he leans down and kisses her. "I'll grab some firewood while you take the sheets off the furniture." He says before going outside.
Christina removed the sheets from the furniture, folded them, and put them in the linen closet. She then went and grabbed the water bottle that was in her school bag before coming back out to the living room and finding Jasper set up the fireplace.
"It's ready darlin'. Do you mind lighting it?" Jasper asks as he stands and moves out of the way.
"Not at all." Christina says and sends a flame to the logs in the fireplace.
"What's that?" Jasper asks while motioning towards the bottle.
"Elk. It was still in my bag from school. I didn't end up having it there. Would you like some?" Christina asks as she hands Jasper the bottle before sitting down.
"Thank you darlin'." He says before taking a sip. He puts the bottle down on the coffee table before walking to the bookshelf. "Is there anything specific you want to read?"
"You decide Cowboy."
Jasper nods and picks a book and then walks over to the couch and sits next to Christina. Christina snuggles into him, and he opens the book. "The Odyssey?" Christina asks, reading the title.
"It's been a while since we've read it. Is that alright with you?"
"Absolutely." Christina said, and they settled and read the book together.
The next day, Christina hopped in the shower, while Jasper was outside.
Jasper came in and heard the shower running and smirked. He walked to their bathroom and removed his clothes before getting in behind Christina.
Christina turned around and smiled while linking her arms behind Jasper's neck. "Hey there cowboy."
"Hello darlin'. I hope you don't mind me joining you. I just couldn't resist."
"I love when you join me." She says and she kisses him. He turns and pins her against the wall as the kiss deepens.
Jasper and Christina never come to the cabin without hiking to their favorite spot. No human's could get there but even as vampires, they always took this hike at a human speed, at least on the way there. They would talk or just walk together in content silence.
Jasper and Christina sit down together and take in the view. "I think the next time we come here should be when it snows, it's always beautiful here when it snows." Christina says
"That sounds like a wonderful idea darlin'." Jasper says.
Christina looks at him and then starts leaning in to kiss him, but before he could connect their lips she gets up and starts removing her clothes.
"What are you doing darlin'?" Jasper says with his eyes darkening with lust. He goes to grab her, but she moves out of his reach and heads into the water.
"Swimming. Want to join me, Mr. Whitlock?" Christina says and she turns around and looks at him from the water.
Jasper quickly removes his clothes and joins his wife in the water. He grabs her waist and she smiles at him. He leans in to kiss her but before he could kiss her, she gets out of his grip, splashes him and laughs.
Jasper loves hearing her laugh. It is his favorite sound. He quickly grabs her and turns her, so she is in his arms with her back against his chest. "You are a tease, Mrs. Whitlock."
Christina laughs and turns around, wrapping her arms around Jasper's neck and her legs around his torso. "You love it, Mr. Whitlock. And you know it."
"You are absolutely right. I love you, Christina Hayden Whitlock." Jasper says and finally kisses her.
The rest of the trip was spent with Jasper and Christina relaxing together and hunting. They even quickly knocked out their schoolwork before they had to leave. The problems at home were never mentioned once. On Sunday evening and they cleaned up the house and put the sheets back on the furniture before grabbing their bags and heading back to Forks.
When they arrived at Forks, Edward had finally returned.
