Jasper and Christina went to visit Charlotte and Peter and traveled with them for a month, obviously they hunted separately. After they parted ways with the two, they decided to go to the cabin in Oregon. Clayton and Alice were on their own trip, but joined them at the cabin a month later. They all stayed for another two months before going back to Alaska to be with the coven, minus Edward, who was off somewhere alone.
When they arrive, Carlisle asks to speak with Christina and Jasper. He leads them into the office that Tanya uses. They just stare at each other until Carlisle speaks up. "You were right." he says to them
"About what specifically?" Christina asks
"That I was blinded because I wanted Edward to be happy. I knew Bella wasn't his mate, but I allowed him to do anything he wanted so he could be happy, at least for a moment. Because of that we were all put into constant danger and I'm sorry. I promise from now on I will take the concerns of the rest of the coven into account, and I will listen when you warn me of something." He says to Christina.
"And I am sorry Jasper, if you were ever uncomfortable while Bella was at the house. I know that is supposed to be our haven away from the humans and the smell of blood. I didn't think of that before and I want to apologize."
"Thank you, Carlisle." He says with a nod.
"I also want to say that I am proud of you, Jasper. I didn't think about how your gift could affect the hunger you feel and I'm sorry. You are much stronger than any of us gave you credit for." Carlisle says and Jasper nods. "I am going to do better at being an actual leader. ill you two consider staying in the coven?" He asks.
Jasper and Christina glance at each other before Christina sends him a slight nod. They turn to Carlisle. "We'll stay. But things have to improve."
"I'm glad. I promise I will be a better leader from now on." Carlisle says and they all walk out to join the others in the living room.

A week later, Christina catches Eleazar when he is not busy. "Hey Eleazar." Christina says and he slows down and waits for her to catch up before they walk again.
"Hello, Christina." Eleazar replies.
"I was wondering if I could talk to you about something."
"Of course. Is this about one of the gifts you copied? I notice you have three new ones since we last met. Is that correct?"
"It is. One of the gifts I copied is another form of tracking. Another is enhanced self-preservation, but I can extend that to cover others I am with as well. The last gift I copied a little over a year ago, when we were protecting the human from that tracker. I have no idea what is it. I didn't know if you could help me figure it out."
"Hmm." Eleazar says while studying Christina. "After I differentiated the other two abilities and focused on the third, I can tell it is something physical. Do you feel any different?"
