Jessica's POV
Hakeem stared at our house in fascination. "This is your house?" he asked. "It's our house, buddy." Travis said. Hakeem smiled at us. We all went inside. We showed Hakeem around. "Come on, Hakeem. I wanna show you something outside." Travis said. They both ran to the backyard. I laughed and followed them. When I got outside, I saw Hakeem jumping around at the sight of the basketballs, the basketball goal, and the swing set with a slide, and jungle bars. "This is all mine?" he said. "Yeah, it's all yours, man." Travis said. Hakeem got a basketball and passed it to Travis. I watched them as Travis made shots and Hakeem watched in awe. Travis was showing Hakeem how to shoot. I went back inside not wanting to interrupt their father and son bonding time. I was absolutely happy that Travis and I finally had our family.Travis's POV
I looked back at the house and noticed Jessica wasn't there anymore. "Where's Mommy?" Hakeem said, dropping his basketball back into the basket that held the basketballs. "I don't know. Let's go find her." I said. We both went inside. "Mommy, where are you? Dad and I are looking for you!" Hakeem screamed. My heart skipped a beat at him calling me dad. I'm pretty sure Jessica's did too because she showed up quickly at the top of the stairs. "Right here, son!" she said. "Mommy!" he said running up the stairs to her. She picked him up. "Where did you go?" he asked. "I was making sure your room was ready." she said, carrying him to his room. I followed behind as Hakeem asked a bunch of questions and Jessica answered each question with ease. "I have my own room?" "Yes." "Do I have to share?" "No, you don't." "Do I get to keep it?" "Of course." "Are you and dad going to let me sleep in there by myself like a big boy?" "Yes, we are, big boy." I chuckled as he kept asking questions until we got to his room. "Well, Hakeem this is your room." I said. (His room is on top.) Jessica put him down and he ran into the room. He spun around. "Wow! This is my room. I love it!" he said, jumping on the bed. Jessica and I sat on the bed. "Come here, Hakeem." I said. He crawled over to me. "Now, listen you are officially a part of our family. You are now a Johnson." I said. He smiled. "I'm a Johnson." he said. Jessica laughed while I smiled. We helped Hakeem pack his clothes away and showed him his new clothes and new toys. We also told him about the cookout for him to meet his new family. He was smiling and laughing about how excited he was. I looked at him smiled. Our family is complete.Author's Note
