KODI BALL DIDN’T KNOW HOW SHE’D LET HERSELF END UP IN THIS POSITION.
Handcuffed by the wrist — to his bloody desk — by her boyfriend, Malakai McGuire.
He leaned back lazily in his chair, cigarette dangling from his lips, smirking at her like the cocky bastard he was.
She was angrier than when she found out Frank Gallagher was screwing Karen Jackson. No — she was furious, and it was all aimed at him now. “Uncuff me, you bloody wanker!” she seethed, jerking at the cuffs.
Malakai just perched on the edge of his chair, arms folded, smirk deepening. “Can’t do that, love,” he drawled, lighting another cigarette. “See… once you’re outta those cuffs, you’re just gonna run. Can’t have that, can we?”
Kodi’s entire body coiled with fury. “I’ll break your bones and feed you to the wolves,” she hissed, venom dripping off every syllable.
Malakai chuckled — low, amused, infuriating. “You’re cute when you threaten me, you know that?”
She tugged again, grunting, but the cuffs wouldn’t budge. “Ugh — get ‘em off!”
“Bloody hell, you dim bint,” he said, leaning back with a lazy grin. “You know you’re not gettin’ out of those without me.”
Kodi glared at him, then let a slow, mischievous smile curl her lips. “Well,” she purred, “if I’m gonna be stuck here… might as well…”
Malakai paused, narrowing his eyes suspiciously. “What are you implying?”
“Take ‘em off,” she murmured, leaning forward just enough to sound desperate, “and I’ll show you.”
For a second, he actually hesitated, fingers twitching toward the key. “Nearly had me there, baby. But nah. Nice try.” He turned his back to her, clearly pleased with himself.
Kodi muttered under her breath, then looked up at him again, her eyes glinting wickedly. “Fine. I’ll… give you whatever you want.”
Malakai cocked his head without looking at her. “Be more specific, princess.”
She stared at him dead-on. “I’ll let you fuck my brains out,” she said bluntly.
That made him laugh — loud, sharp, and mocking. “Already do that, love. You’ll have to do better than that.”
Her expression hardened. “Take the cuffs off, and I’ll let you put it anywhere.”
Malakai froze. His smirk faltered. “Even… there?” he asked, hand sliding over her ass.
Kodi nodded slowly, biting her lip. “Even there.”
She leaned in, whispering against his mouth, “Anywhere and everywhere, I’m at your mercy, McGuire.” Then, with a wicked little grin, she spread her legs just enough for him to catch a glimpse of her underwear.
That was it. He snatched the key from his bedside table and unlocked the cuffs. Kodi’s lips parted, like she was about to kiss him — and then…
She bolted.
Malakai blinked once before exploding out of his chair. “FUCK!”

THE STREETS OF CHATSWORTH…
Malakai’s boots slammed against the cracked pavement, his roar echoing into the night. “COME BACK HERE!”
Kodi, breathless and laughing under her breath, ducked into a front yard, hiding in the shadows. Her eyes caught a baseball bat leaning against a porch. Perfect.
“Perfect,” she muttered with a grin, grabbing it and dragging it along the concrete as she made her way toward Karen Jackson’s.
People peeked out their windows, watching her go with morbid amusement. Everyone in Chatsworth knew about Kodi’s rage blackouts — and her weapon of choice.
She was humming the chilling melody of Freddy’s Coming for You as she rapped the bat against Karen’s door.
“KAREN JACKSON!” she called, voice sharp as a blade. “Come out here, you slag!”
Inside, Karen flinched, still raw from the way Frank had humiliated her. Frank himself was yanking her arm, whispering frantically. “She knows about us!”
Karen gasped. “How?!”
“’Cause she’s a fucking psycho, that’s how,” Frank snapped. “Lay low — I’ll handle her.”
But the second he cracked the door open —
Malakai’s hand shot out and grabbed Kodi’s arm. “No, Kai — let me at her!” she snarled, her bat still poised to swing.
But then the wail of police sirens cut through the air. Both of them froze.
Malakai shot her a look. “Fuckin’ hell — let’s go before we end up behind bars.”
Kodi glared at Karen over her shoulder. “I’m gon’ kick your teeth in, Jackson!” she bellowed as Malakai dragged her off into the night.
Back at the house, Frank and Karen exchanged a shaky sigh of relief. “Thank god for the coppers,” Karen muttered, rolling her eyes at Frank before stomping back to her room.
