(Third person pov)
*After twelve days*

It's been days since that unfortunate incident happened when Wendy died, which left a regret in Jisoo's heart. She's quiet most of the time, and if she speaks, her voice sounds sad and devastated. She has been continuously having nightmares since that day. The darkness of her thoughts somehow engulfed her in the arms of grief and pain.

Jennie is very worried about Jisoo. She notices how Jisoo's eyes just seem lifeless, how she's sobbing and crying every night, how her nightmares didn't let her have a blink of sound sleep, how she isn't eating properly, and also how the cheerfulness that they felt in their own relationship felt like fading away.

She felt bad for her beloved, and she wanted to do something, but all she could do was let Jisoo calm down in her embrace. Jennie knows how fragile Jisoo's emotions are; she knows how much she cares about everyone around her. Jennie remembered that Jisoo once told her that she didn't get to protect her own crumbling family in the past, and now everyone who's around her is her family, and she'll do anything for this new family of hers.

Jisoo's carelessness towards herself and her excessive care towards others always amazes Jennie and also makes her fall in love with Jisoo. Like every day, today also, both Jennie and Jisoo are sleeping together, in which Jennie is gently holding Jisoo's body in her embrace and Jisoo is letting her calm down a bit.

Jisoo's mind is filled with a lot of worries; she felt scared in that moment because she just had a nightmare in which she lost Jennie too. The firm grip on Jennie's clothes, pulling her as close as possible to herself, somehow showed the restlessness of Jisoo's mind and heart.

Jennie was asleep, and Jisoo also closed her eyes in her warm embrace. Suddenly Jennie's phone ranged, which disturbed her sleep, and she opened her eyes and noticed how Jisoo was sleeping in her arms, so she immediately picked up the phone without disturbing her beloved sleep, though she wasn't aware that Jisoo was not sleeping but pretending to be like that.

Jennie saw that her father was calling her; she picked up the call and greeted him in a very soft tone to avoid any kind of noise that might disturb Jisoo's sleep.

"Good morning, dad,"  Jennie said in a soft voice.

"Good morning, dear,"  her dad replied in the same tone as hers.

"Why did you call so early, dad?" Jennie asked.

"Did I disturb you?" her dad inquired back.

"No dad! Just wondering why so early?" Jennie replied softly as she stared at Jisoo's face, who's still faking to be asleep.

"Actually, dear, I need some important documents signed for the company. There's a deal that requires your immediate attention as the CEO. Could you come by the office this morning?" Her dad asked, a hint of urgency in his voice.

Jennie sighed softly, glancing at the clock. It was still early, but she knew these matters couldn't wait. "Of course, Dad. I'll be there as soon as I can," she replied, trying to keep her tone light.

"Thank you, Jennie. I appreciate it," her dad said warmly before ending the call.

Jennie gently placed her phone back on the bedside table and turned her attention to Jisoo. She could see the strain on Jisoo's face, even in her sleep. Jennie leaned in closer, brushing a strand of hair from Jisoo's forehead, and softly called her name.

"Jisoo, love, it's time to wake up," Jennie whispered, her voice tender and soothing.

Jisoo stirred, her eyes fluttering open. She blinks a few times, trying to shake off the remnants of her restless sleep. "Is everything okay?" she asked, her voice hoarse from crying.
