*Third-person POV*

Beep......
Beep......
Beep......

Once again, this terrible noise penetrated Jisoo's ears. Jisoo is not very familiar with it, but it is something she can't ever forget! Those closed rooms with blinding white surroundings, white curtains over a small window, a nasty smell of medicines, continuous beeping of the equipment, a white bed with a not-so-soft mattress, and a lifeless body lying on it are enough to bring back each and every horrible past feeling of Jisoo, but she isn't responding to anything at all! She isn't angry or sad. No emotions, no feelings, and only a noise of slow yet forced breaths trying to fill that empty room! She never responded in those three months. She never asked for Jennie. She never smiled. She never demanded chicken like a child... She never opened her eyes. She never did!

Time passes in an instant around her, but she was still stuck in that timeline where she had to give up her love and be selfish. Sometimes it's really hard to be happy when the strings of your life are entangled with your past and ruin your present. Smiling to hide the pain is one of the bravest and hardest gestures, and Jisoo always did this in front of everyone except Jennie because, with her, she felt genuine happiness. She never gave up, even when everything around her just reminded her that all of it was just an illusion—a joyful illusion! The one that she can enjoy in her mind, but when this illusion is going to be smoked away, she will find herself again stuck in the mud of her past!

A past that holds the secret of her father's death, which wasn't suicide as everyone told her at that time. Lies are bound with truth, and truths that hide the facts are the worst. She believed that her father was not a weak person who could give up on his life just because his daughter loved someone who couldn't be accepted in this world. He never cared about the world when it came to his daughter's happiness! So how could she believe that she's the reason for her father's death? No! She didn't do anything wrong.

But she still got each and every blame on her, whether it's her father's death or breaking up with joy! She was ruined, but with time, everything settled down in her life, and with the presence of Jennie around her, Jisoo basically got a new meaning to her meaningless life. She tried everything in order to protect her love from threats, which she had been given since Jennie was a child. Jisoo tried so many ways to find the person behind it but always ended up with the same conclusion: it's someone who doesn't want her to be the CEO of KIM Industries, but who? She never got a clue about their identity until that one day, when she felt lonely and decided to go back to her home. She was afraid to knock on the door, but after gaining the courage, she knocked on the door, but nobody answered, so she tried to knock a few more times but got no reply.

Her mom never ever tried to look for her, and what else can hurt more than this to Jisoo, as she has always been a child, getting love from her parents and giving a lot in return, but suddenly everything was gone for her! Her mom blamed her for everything and slapped her like she was some culprit for her miseries, and Jisoo still remembered the sensation of that slap on her heart, which hurt like hell! But again, she stayed brave and faced everything that life threw at her!

When she again tried to knock on the door, she was interrupted by a lady in her forties who was none other than her neighbor. The neighbor told her that her mom doesn't stay here anymore because some gangsters attached their home, which scared her mom, which left her no choice but to run away from there. Jisoo was shocked as she heard everything, and she wondered why those bastards would attack her home, and somehow it proved that she was right about her father being murdered... Maybe those were the people behind his death. She entered her home as her neighbor gave her the keys, which were handed over by her mom. As she entered the house, she witnessed a mess. Everything was messed up in there; nothing was in its place, as far as she remembered. Broken pots, shattered glasses, teared sheets, and scattered books, which were the glory of this house, are now lying on the floor, torn and sliced. Her father treasured them, but now it's far more than a treasure; it looks like a trash box to her. Every good memory seems to fade away from there, and only ruined bad memories are now residing there!
