Ayla

It was early evening when we pulled into King Schuyler's estate. I got out of the SUV and started to stretch my legs out. When I looked around my jaw dropped. The King's main home was a massive sprawling building with three floors. The mansion was made of stone and around the front doors were massive white columns and two guards.

I looked around taking in the rest of the estate. There were several other buildings and all of them were just as luxurious. It was utterly breathtaking.

"I can't believe we get to stay here for the next few months." Delilah said in awe.

"I know!," I gushed excitedly,"If this is the outside can you imagine the inside? I can't wait until later when we get to see our rooms."

"I don't think I'm going to want to leave."

I giggled, "Me neither. Do you think anyone would notice if we just stayed?"

"I'm sure they won't."

We both burst into fits of laughter. It felt so good to laugh. I've been so tense and freaked out ever since Michael said those words to me earlier.

"Good afternoon ladies and gentleman." Delilah and I turned at the sound of the unfamiliar voice.

A woman with graying hair stood in front of us, "Welcome to King Shuyler's home. We hope that you will have an enjoyable time during your stay." she smiled. "My name is Amber and I will guide you to the banquet hall. Dinner will be starting shortly. What pack are you?"

"Iverwood." Michael answered.

"Very well. Don't worry about your luggage, it will be taken to your rooms and you will receive your keys after dinner. This way please."

Everyone started to follow the woman. She led us through the massive wooden front doors and through a bunch of grand looking rooms that I wasn't able to get a good look at because we were moving too quickly. We walked through two open doors and into a massive space that had high ceilings and a massive chandelier. There were several large windows with heavy maroon drapes and gold chains draped around them. The further we walked in the more amazed I became. Round tables were neatly lined up and decorated with flowers and maroon tablecloths.

Most of the tables were filled with people chatting and sipping on cocktails. After the last of the guests arrived a maid came in and announced the arrival of the King and his daughter. Everyone stood and when the King walked in he helped his daughter into her seat then motioned for us to sit. He started speaking but I didn't hear a word because I couldn't look away from the gorgeous man on the raised platform.

His eyes were the first thing that caught my attention. They were a grayish blue which I had never seen before. Was it a trait only the King had? He had a handsome face and dark blonde hair that hung loosely around his shoulders. And his tailored suit couldn't hide his massive muscles. I looked in awe at his size. He had to be 6'5, if not taller. And his muscles were far bigger than Michael's.

I didn't take my eyes off him the entire time he was talking.
