Ch 4. Part 2 King Schuyler

I was rubbing my temple trying to keep a headache at bay when I heard a heavy door close. I stood up when I noticed the Doctor standing in front us. His lips were pressed into a hard line, it didn't look like he was here with good news. I heard Delilah sob and Bryce wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"You don't look like you have good news."

The older man shook his head,"I'm afraid not Your Majesty."

My body was frozen in place while I waited for him to continue.

"Ayla has been severely injured," he began, "she was beaten and choked with silver. We can see the burn marks in her skin, they're all over her body."

The fire in my blood blazed once more. I would make those girl's pay.

"Due to the amount of silver in her system she is too weak to heal."

"So what can we do?" Delilah's voice shook and her eyes were wide.

"There is one thing we can try but it's not a guarantee."

I tapped my foot on the ground while I waited for the doctor to finish.

"We can do a blood transfusion. To get all the blood out and replace it with new blood."

"So why haven't you started?" I asked.

"We're short on blood at the time."

"What's her blood type?" I asked.

"A-"

For the first time since bringing Ayla here I felt a sliver of hope.

"I have A- blood."

"Good, maybe the blood of the King will help more."

I turned to the others, "Can any of you donate?"

Laura and Delilah shook their heads and Bryce said no.

"I can," Charlie said,"I have O-"

The doctor nodded, "It's a start but we'll need more blood."

"I'll contact Taylor and have him find people who can donate." I said.

I need you guys to stop what you're doing. I told my team.

We're in the middle of interrogating. Sol responded.

I want it put on the back burner. I told everyone, I need you guys to find anyone with A- or O- blood in the hospital.

We're on it, Your Majesty. Taylor's deep voice echoed in my mind.

"Jonathan!" The doctor called over a tall gentleman with scars on his face.

"Yes Dr. Ahmad?"

"I need you to take these two gentlemen and start drawing blood. We need to get it into Ayla's body as soon as possible."

"This way." Jonathan waved his and motioned to an empty room.

I sat down in a cold metal chair that had no cushion. Bryce settled in the seat across from me. Jonathan gathered his supplies and wrapped a band around my arm. When he was satisfied he stuck the needle into my skin. I watched the deep red liquid move through the tube and into the bag.

"How long does it take to fill one of these?" I asked.

"Not long, Your Majesty, about ten to fifteen minutes. "
