I will frequently change the perspective of the story between Nika and Jake but each chapter will be titled the name of the person who I'm writing from so it will be easy to tell.
Nika is 14 and is Jake's niece. She is 5'8 and recently dyed her hair from blonde like her mom's to brown like Jake's. She likes to play video games instead of going to school which is why she is failing at most subjects. She frequently talks down to Jake and teases him for many different reasons causing Jake to have a strong disliking towards her.
Jake is 15 and is Nika's uncle. He is only 5'3 and also likes to play video games but he makes time for school as he doesn't want to ruin his 2 year streak of not missing a day.
Emma is 38 and is Nika's mom. She doesn't have much time to relax due to her busy job as a teacher causing her to not see Jake as much as Nika.
Brayden is 17 and is Jake's older brother. He likes football and playing video games. He is better friends with Nika than Jake is as they both frequently play video games together.
Isobel is also 17 and has a part time job at a pizza shop. She alternates between staying at her dad's house or her mom Emma's house.
Evie is Jake's 5 year old sister and is still in diapers.
Liam is Jake's eldest brother at 19. He still lives with him despite his job that provides a stable income. He likes music and watching tv dramas at night.
Jean is 58 and is the mother of Jake, Emma, Liam and Brayden. She is very kind and likes to watch dramas in her spare time with Liam.
William is 36 and is Emma's fiancé. They had been dating for 5 years prior to getting engaged. He works as a prison guard so is very well built. William teases everyone he sees for anything he can make fun of which is why both jake and Liam don't like him.
Chloe is Jake's closest friend. Her best friend is called Rosie and they sit with Jake at school to eat dinner with him.
