If Harry had known that his actions would have many consequences, he had not expected that the matter would also make it into the Daily Prophet. He wasn't the type to read the news, normal for a kid who had often been hit with a rolled-up newspaper at breakfast time. Usually he watched others open theirs and if there was anything interesting Hermione would tell him, he could count on her for that. But not that morning when he was on the front page. There were no photos of him, and Harry couldn't remember a time when photographers accosted him. However, he had been in Diagon Alley for part of the summer... The title was designed to catch the eye: "Theft of the Survivor's bloodline?!" Harry felt eyes on him as Hermione handed him his copy of the Prophet. He didn't want to read but he knew he had to know. He wiped his buttery fingers, thanked her and began to go through the lines.
The most astonishing news, ladies and gentlemen! Our Survivor, Harry Potter, would have been the victim of a line theft which is not recent. According to our information, which is still brief, our hero – the one who freed us from You-Know-Who! – would never have possessed his heir ring that the Aurors would have found in the voting room of the Wizengamot.
The Potter lineage is not one of the founding ones of our country, like the sacred 28, however it gained a special place in the hearts of all as it proved all its aptitude for magic and his desire to undertake for our country. Many people still thank Fleamont Potter for his potions and body lotions that allowed him to rise to the rank of lord and enter the Wizengamot.
Something we tried to take from our Savior! We don't have Mr. Potter's testimony about his ring, so we don't know how it could have ended up in the wrong hands. Would people have dared to abuse his youth and his innocence? This is probably what we should believe. Rufus Scrimgeor, leader of the Aurors, has taken the lead in the matter which affects not only our Survivor but our entire nation. Laws have been ratified thanks to his seats in our highest authority.
We intend to shed light on this matter and I assure you that I intend to meet our hero to share his impressions with you!
Your reporter, Rita Skeeter
On page 3, a reminder of Harry Potter's actions for our country.
-It's still okay... I feared reading worse but I'm not reassured.
Harry really had a bad feeling about this journalist. In fact, anyone who approached him because of his fame would be in his sights. He handed Hermione her journal back and resumed his meal while the brunette who had been reading over his shoulder said.
-She has a very emphatic accent, I don't know if we can trust what she writes.
-Oh no, not at all!
Harry and Hermione looked at Ron who was hesitating between bacon and toast. He took both while adding for his friends who were looking at him.
-Skeeter is a specialist in gossip and she loves to exaggerate about everything. Mom has been following her for years to find out about the gossip of the wizarding world. She has a lot of trouble up her butt, some wonder how she manages to get certain information.
-Ah. Awesome.
Harry's appetite was gone now. He didn't want someone like that invading his life, he already had enough problems to deal with for a thirteen year old who was still discovering the world he should have lived in. Neville dared to mutter.
-Anyway, if she wants to meet you, she has to go through your guardians, otherwise it's illegal. It's like with Aurors really, unless she's doing her interview in public.
-Yeah, since she tends to deal with reality, from what I know, she could modify what you say so that it attracts more readers.
Harry looked at the brunette and the redhead in turn and sighed. So he was going to have to be very careful with this woman. To think that he had believed that journalists were primarily supposed to inform... He crushed the rest of his eggs, a little in a bad mood now. And the end of the week wasn't going to get any better.
