As if Sam merely blinked, the morning sun already started peeking through her window. Begrudgingly, she rolls out of bed, nearly waking up her other roommates. Messily looking through her trunk, she finally is able to find her wrinkled uniform with matching mary-janes.
Sam hoped for the Ravenclaw bathroom to be just as magical but is soon reminded that it's just a normal bathroom, if a marble and stone slab bathroom with custom stained-glass windows counts as 'normal'.
Putting on her sapphire uniform for the first time, Sam struggles with her fitted tie that keeps tying itself into little knots. Frustrated, she whips out her wand from her back pocket, waving it around frantically in hopes to help.
Unfortunately for Sam, all her wand did was send sparks everywhere, nearly burning a hole into her new socks. Sam was just able to transform her tie to appear somewhat standard, however by that time it was full morning and the rest of her fellow Ravenclaws were already heading down for breakfast.
"Who'd you think we're paired with for Charms? Oooh or flying? You ever thought about that, we only share flying with one class." Celeste ponders on her way down to the Grand Hall, Sam following close beside.
"Well yeah, that's how classes work." Sam states before quickly grabbing onto the nearby banister as the staircase they were standing on starts rotating clockwise.
"No but think about it," Celeste says. "We only have flying for one year. Sooo, we'll never have flying class with one house. Pretty cool, eh?"
"I guess so." Sam replies, turning the corner into the main corridor where they were instantly joined by loads of other students leaving and entering.
Upon entering the Great Hall, Sam instantly gravitates towards the huge plate of scrambled eggs sitting in the middle of the table. Their other roommate sits across from them, her blonde curly hair sticking out at all angles.
Suddenly, owls start swooping in at all angles, dropping packages off at students. Some owls even landed right in front of their student, to deliver messages from home or items left behind. Sam looks over to her twin brothers who sat just a few rows down, who also appear to have received nothing.
A tiny brown owl flies in, flapping its wings frantically before falling right into Celeste's cereal bowl. Celeste unties the small note tied to the bird's leg as the bird suddenly took off from sight.
"Look Annika, it's for you." Celeste hands the note across the table, as Annika unfurls the parcel.
"Oh," Annika flushes. "It's just my mom's old Ravenclaw stuff." And sure enough, inside the parcel was a folded blue wool sweater, complete with a raven embroidered over the heart. Annika rushes to put the sweater in her book bag, while Sam and Celeste discuss their upcoming classes.
