i guess i'm just the bigger guy. and
there's too much on my mind

"HEY, HOW'D YOU COME UP WITH THE UPSIDE DOWN SO FAST?" Mike questioned Y/N, the group had gone out to find the gate. "I mean, I think that was ...Sort of cool of you."Y/N looked over, blinking at him. "Sorry, I'm dumb. Come again?" she smiled at him awkwardly.
"Like, you looked at me. And somehow you knew what El meant, and what I was thinking." Mike explained his thoughts. "I just think that was cool. Like, telepathy."
Y/N laughed. "Not telepathic. I guess I could just ...Tell. Like, I understood, but I think I understood better when I looked at you." Y/N tried to say, tried to explain her thought process. "That makes no sense, sorry."
Mike smiled at her a bit. "I guess I understand." Mike said, and they laughed together for a second. "You help us out a lot. I'm sorry if I make you or the others seem like I'm not really ...You know."
"I know." Y/N replied. "Don't worry, you help us out a lot, too. Will being missing doesn't just impact us, but it impacts you."
Mike's half-smile grew into a real one, looking down. His cheeks were that shade of pink again, like when he held her hand at the funeral.
"Mike, Y/N." El said suddenly. Y/N hummed. "Turn back."
"What, why?" Mike asked.
"I'm tired." El said.
"I'm sure we're almost there." Y/N says. "Don't worry, just hold on a bit longer. Okay?"
"Okay." El whispered.
"Oh, no." Dustin said, pausing and looking down at his compass.
"Oh no? What's, oh no?" Lucas asked skeptically.
"We're headed back home." Dustin responded, turning around and looking at Lucas.
"What?" Mike said in disbelief.
"Are you sure?" Lucas asked to confirm.
"Yeah, I'm sure." Dustin sighed. "Setting sun, right there. We looped right back around."
Y/N was dumbfounded. "You're realizing this just now?" Y/N said. "We walked in a loop for nothing?"
"Why is this all on me?" Dustin asked.
"Because you're the compass genius!" Lucas argued.
They all stopped in the middle of the grass, away from the train tracks. They were in what seemed to be the middle of nowhere, abandoned old cars. The sun was setting, casting a bright sunlight on everyone.
