— good old-fashioned lover boy, queen
JOYCE BYERS HAD FOUND HER SON. At last, Will Byers was found safe. Nobody was insane, nobody ever was. Joyce—especially—was not insane. She never had been. To speaking to her son through the lights, everyone looked at her as if she was crazy. Her first born, Jonathan, and her divorced husband, Lonnie. She's mentally ill. Lonnie claimed. But she wasn't, she truly, and most definitely, spoke to her son within the lights.
The police sirens were heard and rang as Y/N stood. She blinked, watching Martin Elsher rush towards her with a worried look. He grasped her into his arms, tightly and warm.
And for some reason, she felt safe in his embrace. Like they had a connection, and he wasn't just neglecting her at home at the time. Seconds passed, she froze. But her arms seemed to have a mind of their own, grasping her father, Martin, back.
She closed her eyes, starting to break out into sobs. "Dad, I missed you." she mutters.
"I got you." Martin replied back, holding her. All he knew was that his daughter got into some sort of crazy and maniac shit. But he didn't particularly care right now, because he had all the time in the world to ask her about it. "It's okay. I got you. Missed you too."
Joyce knew her son was alive. And he was. There will laid on the hospital bed, eyes closed. Before he opened them for the first time in days, and Joyce's mood was lifted almost immediately. Jonathan too.
"Hi, sweetheart." Joyce whispered, immediately standing up. Her hand ran through his hair, smiling wider than she ever had in weeks.
"Where ...Where am I?" Will said, giving the best smile that he could conjure up with.
Joyce sighed. "You're home now." Jonathan said, tearing up. "You're safe."
"Jonathan." Will's voice was small, looking up at his older brother.
"Yeah. It's me, buddy." Jonathan nodded slowly. Emotions got the best of him, and for the better of him. His heart swelled, seeing his brother who he seemed to believe was dead. Or alive. He didn't particularly care, just loved the fact that Will was laying in front of him. "We missed you."
Will looked at Jonathan's hand. "Are you okay?" he asks in concern.
"What, this?" Jonathan looked down at his hand, then back over at Will. "It's just a cut. It's nothing. You're worried about my hand." he looked up at Joyce, and they both laughed.
"William Byers!" shouted Y/N with joy, as they all rushed in and hugged him. Joyce told them to be careful, but they all ignored it.
"You won't believe what happened when you were gone, man!" Lucas said with excitement.
"It was mental!" Dustin grinned.
"You had a funeral!" Lucas said.
"Jennifer Hayes was crying." Dustin said, signaling to the moment when Jennifer Hayes was crying at Will's funeral.
"And Troy peed himself!" Lucas recalled.
"What?" Will smiled.
"In front of the whole school!" Dustin said loudly. "And Y/N announced it! So cool. Everyone started laughing."
Will started to laugh, but it ended up into coughing. Everyone's smiles started to go down, and Mike nudged Will.
"You okay?" he asked.
"It got me." Will says. "The demogorgan."
"We know. It's okay. It's dead." Mike explained.
"We made a new friend." Y/N said softly. "You'd like her, Will. She's nice. She helped us find you, she saved us. She's gone."
"Her names Eleven." Dustin said.
"Like the number?" Will squinted his eyes at his friends.
"Well, we call her El for short." Lucas clarifies.
"She's basically a wizard." Dustin said.
"She has superpowers." Lucas whispered.
"She flipped a van with her mind!" Dustin exclaimed. "And these agents were trying to shoot us!"
They just started to describe everything that had happened in these weeks.
"Oh, shit," Dustin interrupted. He motioned towards Y/N and Mike. "And these two got together! Finally!"
"Actually?" Will said, looking up at Y/N. She only blushed in return, and glanced away. "About time. She'd call me all the time and—"
"Don't start, Will!" Y/N said out of embarrassment. "Uh, shit. Oh! Troy and James tried to jump me, Mike and Dustin!"
"And Mike jumped off a cliff!" Dustin says. "But El stopped it and then Mike started to float and he landed on his butt. Then El broke Troy's arm!"
"And now Troy's homeschooled!" Y/N exclaims.
"Missed a lot. Didn't I?" Will smiled sadly.
"We're gonna catch you up." Mike nudged Will again.
