Y/N PLACED THE PAPER DOWN ON THE COFFEE TABLE IN JOYCE BYERS' HOUSE. She grabbed a pen, drawing a line, a person, and a dot underneath the line.

"The flea and the acrobat." Y/N started off. "We're the acrobat, or, in other words, Eleven is the flea. Will, Barbara, and the monster. They're this flea. And this is the upside down."

"Where Will is hiding." Mike added in. "Mr. Clarke said the only way to get there is through a rip of time and space."

"A gate." Dustin summarized.

"That we tracked to Hawkins Lab." Lucas spoke.

"With our compasses." Joyce, Hopper, Jonathan and Nancy just looked at them. Confused. "Okay, so, the gate has a really strong electromagnetic field and that can change the directions of a compass needle."

"Is this gate underground?" Hopper questions.

"Yes." Eleven replied.

"Near a large water tank?" Hopper asked again, oddly specific question.

Eleven nodded again. "Yes."

"How," Dustin stuttered. "How do you know all of that?"

"He's seen it ..." Mike muttered.

"Is there any way you could ...That you could reach Will?" Joyce says with hope. She looked at Eleven, wondering. "That you could talk to him in this—"

"The upside down." Eleven interrupted. Joyce repeated it, saying it. Eleven nods.

"And my friend Barbara?" Nancy said. "Can you find her, too?"

Eleven nodded again.

Static ran, and everyone watched Eleven as she concentrated. Her eyes were closed, seemingly doing everything she could. The light flickered, and El opened her eyes again. "I'm sorry." Eleven whispered.

"What?" Joyce said. "What's wrong? What happened?"

"I can't find them." Eleven's voice broke.

"When El uses her powers, she gets weak." Y/N said. "More energy she uses. More tired she gets."

"She flipped a van over earlier." Lucas said, giving an example.

"It was awesome." Dustin nodded.

"But she's drained." Mike said.

"Like a bad battery." Dustin says.

Joyce looked down. "Well—How do we, how do we make her better?" Joyce questioned.

Joyce only really cared about one thing. Finding her son. Joyce was an honest, caring woman. She was dedicated to her children. Y/N had no idea how she managed to get through all of this. Not having Will.
