[Special] Chapter sixteen: Promise

Lucy POV (Night of Day 2):

After winning the second day of the Grand Magic Games, Rogue and I went our opposite way from the rest of the group to go on a little date. We climbed a huge hill that overlooked the whole city, the town lit up like a Christmas tree. Rogue looked at me and kissed my lips and in that small moment it seemed like nothing else mattered, the betrayal I felt towards Fairy Tail, the anger, and everything in between- just meant nothing to me. In that moment all that mattered was Rogue and I, all that mattered was that I was happy right then with him. I felt a tear fall and it wasn't a tear of sadness but one of happiness, I've finally let go of everything, I haven't forgiven, but I've let it all go. Rogue wiped my tear away and kissed my cheek "Something wrong?" He asked in a somewhat worried tone and I just smiled "I'm perfectly fine" I kissed his lips again and then laid down on his shoulder to watch the stars. From that hill we could see all the Zodiac constellations and it was like they were watching over me. I look up at Rogue again "Do you think I should forgive Fairy Tail?" he seems surprised that I'd ask him so suddenly but then just starts to think about it "Forgive but never forget..." is all he says before mysteriously trailing off. I just think about it and I nod, understanding what he really meant. "Rogue I just want you to know that whether we win or not I still want you to mark me" I say and smile. He softly smiles "You can count on that" He then reaches in his pocket and pulls out what looks like a small box. I look down at it and happiness fills me. He opens the box and shows me a ring with a huge diamond "That was my promise to you, now promise me that you'll marry me?" He pulls a cheesy line but who the hell cares, right? I nod quickly and he kisses me passionately before sliding the ring onto my finger. A/N: Ring in media

Rogue POV:

'What better time to ask her than right now? After she's my mate she'd have to marry me anyway because we can't be without one another.' I thought and before saying my cheesy line to her. Hey if it made her smile then good enough. She laid in my lap with the happiest face ever and I couldn't help but blush I've never made anyone that happy before. She started falling asleep so I waited till she fell fully asleep to carry her back to the inn with me. On the way I ran into the great flame brain himself "oi Rogue, what's wrong with Lucy" He asks and I'll admit, I wanted to punch him "She's sleeping, why?" I say with zero emotion in my voice. He gives me a bored look and shrugs "Lucy got lucky today, I could've beaten her" He says but the confidence in his voice says something else. "Yeah whatever, I gotta go now and put Lucy to bed." I say before walking off and in the background all I head is Natsu "She won't always be yours..." then he walked the opposite way. I sighed and continued to our inn, when I got inside I laid her on the bed and went to take a shower and put on my night clothes before climbing into bed where she instantly cuddled up to me. 'I guess she can smell me' I thought before snuggling her and falling asleep to the sweet small of strawberry and vanilla.
