Chapter 26 - a week later

"... you're not eating yo food what's up?." China asked Sera as they sat together for a girly catch up and to watch a movie.

"I don't know.... It just feels that ever since my dad told me about Marcus and my mama.. I can't seem to stomach anything right now.."

China laughed. "Girl are you sure you ain't pregnant." She mocked. "You look a lil peaky to me... you and Reece.. going for baby number two?.."

Sera looked at her. "I can't be pregnant.. Reece is being a real gentleman right now and showing me his romantic side and family man side minus the sex.. it's quite refreshing.."

"So you and him ain't had sex at all since you've been back together?."

She shook her head. "He wanted to take it slow and prove to me what I mean to him."

"Wow! I don't think that I have ever met one like that before... apart from Calvin..then again I don't seem him from one week to the next..

"he's good with whispering sweet nothings in the ear to get what he wants and then he goes and he does him." Sera said.

"He told me he fucked you... are you sure you're not pregnant by him?.." she said.

"No... He used a condom..."

"Sera condoms are not the be all and end all.. they are not one hundred percent accurate... you may have had a dodgy one... maybe you should just get checked out.. I've got spare tests here.. and don't look at me like that girl.. I have them here for emergencies" she got up and headed to her bathroom. She came back with a box. "Here take it.. it's better to be safe than sorry." She said.

Sera took the test, she looked at it. "I can't be.. we were careful I made sure of it.." she said but she went across to the bathroom.
She shut the door and sat on the toilet. She read the instructions.
"This is ridiculous.. I can't be pregnant. Calvin used a condom.. it's got to be something else."
She said to herself as she dipped the stick and waited.

"Open the door then, I need to know.." China said impatiently from the other side of the door.

Sera left the test to do its time, she stepped out of the bathroom. "There is going to be nothing to see.. I promise you.. it's just stress.. and is it any wonder with the way things have been going lately.."

China went past her into the bathroom. She picked up the test and she raised her eyebrows. "I would sue the condom company girl.. you're very much pregnant!." She said to her.

Sera gasped, winded. "No, no, no.. this can't be happening... oh my god, oh my god... China what the fuck am I gonna do?... if Reece finds out.."

"Girl is that all you're worried about.. you weren't even with the motherfucker when you slept with Calvin... He can barely kick yo ass for that!.."

"You don't understand Reece..." she rubbed her head in pure worry and frustration. "we were careful, how the fuck did this happen..."

"You need to tell Calvin.. he's the only possible father right?."

Sera nodded. "I don't know if I can have this baby.."

" what the hell do you mean? You're always so pro-life....

"I'm gonna lose Reece...

"you are such a fucking drama queen." China pulled her to her and gave her a hug.

For the rest of their time together Sera couldn't concentrate on anything apart from the news she now had. She just turned it over and over in her mind wondering how she could make this all good. She looked to the side of her at China who was happily watching a movie, this girl never worried about a thing. She was happy-go-lucky in life and as long as she was getting dick now and again she didn't really care much for heavy relationships so she didn't understand the turmoil that Sera was in right now over Reece.

"i'm going to head home... China I need you to keep this quiet for now okay until I'm ready... Please don't tell a soul you need to swear.."

"Aite I swear I won't say shit..." she said to her. "But girl." She smiled from ear to ear. "You are gonna be a mommy all over again..."
Sera smiled faintly and left.

She got into the waiting car that Carlos was driving. Reece made sure that she was picked up and taken everywhere that she needed to be, he was on daddy duty tonight because she was spending time with China, so she text ahead when she was ready to leave and Carlos was now waiting.
"You good... good night with yo friend?."

"Yeah... it was great." She said, but her mind was so distracted right now. She realised that the only other person aside from her that knew about this was indeed just China. Even though it went against everything that she believed in, she kept thinking to herself, what if she had a termination now while it was in the early stages and no one would ever know, and all she would need to do is swear China to secrecy.

She had been deep in thought for so long she didn't even realise they had pulled up at the house. "Earth to Sera... we're here?." Carlos said to her.

"Thank you" she said and got out the car. Reese saw her coming and he opened the door to her, his smile warmed her. Her stomach churned she didn't want to let this man go, she wanted to be with him but she knew he would never accept that she had slept with Calvin especially when he believed that he was the only one she had been with. Plus, he hated Calvin with a passion.

China opened the door to Maddison. "Long time no see stranger.. damn.. that bump of yours is huge when is she going to be here?."

"She?.. girl we still don't know the sex of this baby.. we don't want to either.."
Maddie said and walked in with her.

"you're crazy, I would want to know so I can go and buy all the things that I need for either my daughter or my son... Otherwise you gotta stick with pastel colours for everything.. neutral and boring.." China said.

"It's just more fun and mysterious this way.." Maddison said.
She opened the door to the bathroom and she saw the pregnancy test box on the side.
"China?... is there something you're not telling me?." She said holding the box up to her with her eyebrows raised.

China smiled. "Girl that ain't mine... I'm not stupid to get caught out by a mother fucker... unlike Sera...

Maddison looked at her. "Sera?."

"Yeah...."

"Wow.. two babies.. I didn't think I would ever see her with one let alone alone two.." Maddison said. "i'm happy for her but I just hope that she speaks to Romeo someday soon because he misses her like crazy and he is so hurt they don't talk anymore...."
