Chapter 49 - Working together

"Look all I'm saying is that you should talk to him man, isn't it better to have more people on side than not?" Romeo said to Reece as they met at the main trap.

"Can you honestly see me and Calvin working together?" he said to him with his eyebrows raised.

"I know you and him have crossed paths and not in a good way, but we need more people involved..." he stopped talking as Calvin pulled in and got out of his car. Reece just stared at him and he in turn stared right back. "Civilised conversation okay.. we can all just work together for the sake of Sera"

No one said a word.

"I want to see my son...

Gerrard turned and looked at Sera. "Are you sure about that?... I can arrange it but you need to be sure..."

"Maybe being near him will jog my memory.. I don't know I'm just clutching at straws..." she looked at him. "Can you show me more about Reece... tell me more about him..."

"You're scared of him...

"Not scared.. it's just that I don't understand.. why I would want to be with a man like him.. why I would have a son by him.. he was married, I was a stripper?... who the hell am I.." she said with tears in her eyes.

"Let me get your son here.. we can talk later.." he said to her and left her in the grounds of this new hideout.

"That's debatable" Calvin said. "So, you are going to claim her now that she doesn't know who she is... I think if you want her back and protected you need to tell the truth, stop hiding the fact that you are not her father and that you had her mother killed...

Romeo jumped up from his seat, he grabbed Calvin by his shirt, bunching it in his fists. "Why don't you shut the fuck up, don't ever speak on anything that you don't know shit about!" He snapped.

"As much as I hate to fucking say it Romeo he has a point, we have to have her knowing everything, I've told her the truth about me being married, about having four daughters as well as Cassius, the only way forward is to be truthful with her about everything" Reece agreed.

"Well, that might be fine for you Mother Fuckers, but I get to lose her all over again... I am her father... Walker isn't..."

"Just because he doesn't know that she is alive, once he knows she is alive he will tell her the truth if you don't... and don't you think it would be worse for him to tell her than for her to hear it from you?" Reece said. "I now know who is behind this, it is going to take a lot to bring him down he has a lot of backups, and he is well known in everything that he does, making someone like Devon disappear is not gonna be easy" Reece said.

Calvin and shook his head. "So, this was because of you, if you would have left her alone, she would have never had that happen to her ... so, he did that to her because he knew that you were fucking her...

Reece glared at him. "One day mother fucker yo mouth is going to get you killed" he said to him through gritted teeth.

"Am I not speaking the truth here? You were a married man and now the father of yo wife wants yo sidepiece killed"

"I will go all out to protect her; I know that now he knows she is alive this won't stop... The only way this will stop is for me to get rid of the problem and that is Devon... are you gonna help me or not, how much does she mean to you?" Reece said to him.

Gerrard looked at the picture that Sera was looking at. "I know him... he is a big part of my life, right?"

"Reece's account is that you and he lived together, and he was about to raise your son as his own and then you decided that Reece needed to know the truth, so you told him broke away from Calvin and then you got back with him, the baby you lost...

"That was his... he took off the condom... he hated me being with Reece he was always angry..." she looked at the picture again and studied it. She smiled. "We were best friends... all the way through school"

"You remember him from before?" Gerrard said to her.

She nodded. "Am I able to see him? If I see him face to face and we start talking to each other, I may remember everything else" she asked him desperately.

"Calvin is no better than Reece in fact he worked for him... and I thought you didn't want to head back to that life, you were scared of it"

"I still need to know, still need to understand who I am. All I am saying his he would be able to help me understand myself, I mean it is something that I remembered him, that means he was a prominent figure in my life, so who better to help me match the pieces together?... He can explain everything to me, he can help me realise how I got here and why"

"I just think that you need to be careful, these men that you're dealing with another everyday run-of-the-mill men. He hurt you, he forced the pregnancy on you. We don't know if he had anything to do with what happened to you...

"Reece told me the Calvin wouldn't have done anything to hurt me either, they dislike each other because of me so why would he stick up for him in that way?" she said. "Gerrard, I just want and need to make sense of my life. I want my son here and I want some time with Calvin. You can be here too, please?"

he nodded. "Okay, I will go and make the necessary arrangements now for you. But don't be upset if he doesn't want to see you, and don't be upset if Reece puts his foot down and doesn't want you to see your son alone, your son is a perfect stranger to you right now...

Sera watched him as he walked out of the door.

"I always knew you would have just as much math as your mother, she knew how to stand up for herself and so do you..." Devon smiled. "Now, families look out for each other am I right? And I need you to do something for me...

"Like what, and what if I say no...

"I think you seem to forget that I have something of yours in my possession right now, Heaven will stay with me until you have done what it is that I need you to do for me, is that incentive enough for you?" he smirked.

"you're an asshole, you always were one, you better tell me that what it is you want me to do because I would do anything for my daughter unlike you" Maddison expressed.

Devon smiled and sat forward. He cleared his throat. "ROMANE" He called , and the door opened, a man walked in. His eyes were all over Maddison and she swallowed hard as she suddenly realised what her purpose in this was....
