Annabeth's POV:

That little brat! Am I the only one who sees right through her sneaky plan? It's obvious what she's trying to do: take Percy, I mean take away all of my friends away from me! Strutting about, dictating us all like she's the Queen of the Gods! Jeez, chill out Hera. Right, where was I? Oh yeah, Princess Secrets.

I know that she's hiding something. And once I find out what, everyone will apologise for not believing me and maybe even the gods themselves will thank me. I'll be praised for eternity and all of my ambitions and hopes will come true! Perhaps, even Perc- Right, time to stop daydreaming Annabeth. We've got a secret to unfold.

Don't think I've forgotten about Cameron. He must be part of this too! Which is why he appeared at such a convenient time whilst Emily was busy slacking off. Even if it's two against one, I know I have an advantage.

Cameron seems pretty weak so if I make him tell me all of Emily's secrets then I can tell her that he betrayed her and then they'll fight and then... Hang on a second, I think we'll cross that bridge later. For now I need to wait, and plan. That's what every great hero does.

Speak of the devil and he will appear. More like she though... Said devil just walked in, an innocent and carefree smile on her face. Cameron trailed after her whining pathetically. "No, no, no, no Emily! This is not what I signed up for!"

Emily clapped her hands. "Uh guys? Can I ask you something?" No you cannot, now shut your mouth before I do it for you.

"Yeah sure go ahead." Ughh Leo you weren't supposed to reply!

Emily sat down and leant her elbows on the marble tabletop. "So Cu- Cameron had this idea –"

Cameron shook his head wildly. "I am not taking responsibility for this! It was your idea and yours alone!"

Emily groaned. "Fine, fine. I was thinking about the quest and I realised that mortals aren't supposed to know about our world, right?" She looked at us for conformation.

"Well," she continued without waiting for an answer. "Imagine what the mortals would think if nine underaged teenagers lived on their own in an expensive looking apartment? They'd phone the police and then we'd be in serious trouble."

I spoke up, trying to keep the distaste out of my voice. "Well we've come this far anyway, so why are you all worked up about it?"

Emily rolled her eyes "Yes that may be true, but for how much longer? We need something mortal-like to not raise any suspicion."

Hazel glanced worryingly at Frank. "What do you think we should do then?"

Cameron slammed his head repeatedly on the table. "I do not give my consent to this Emily:"

Emily glared at him for a second. "I was thinking, maybe perhaps we could..."

Cameron gave a loud wail. "Go to mortal school?" Emily finished wincing.

Oh hell no.

Piper's POV:

High school? There is no way I'm agreeing to this. Unless... What if it's a way to get Annabeth and Percy together. If those two go into the same classes and Emily is away from them, then Annabeth would stop being so jealous of Emily and Percabeth would begin!

The Aphrodite in me took over and I had the urge to squeal loudly, thinking of all the possibilities. As much as I hate school and everything to do with it, if that is what it took for Percy to stop being so clueless then I would do anything.

The other demigods were still in shock. Cameron had fallen out of his seat and was crawling around the floor whimpering. Bit extreme if you ask me. Emily was still grimacing, having just realised the impact of her words.

I clapped my hands loudly, startling them "Alright guys listen up. Emily and I can go sort out paperwork to enrol us. What school do you guys want to go to?"

Percy stuck his hand up and was waving wildly. "Can we go to Goode? They have an awesome swim team!"

Goode. Isn't that the place where Percy got attacked by a group of cheerleaders and destroyed his band room? If so then it's going to be a lot harder for him to get in. I nodded to everyone and pulled Emily out of the door and onto the street.

"Nice one." I told her once we were out of earshot.

She shrugged. "Anything to stop Annabeth glaring at me." She shivered. "Can you tell her to please stop annoying me? I feel like I'm being stalked every time she's around."

I bumped her shoulder playfully. "Hey, once we enrol, Annabeth won't need to bother you ever again."

We continued the way in a comfortable silence. Emily seemed to know where she was going and I was just following her, trying to not be distracted the cars and traffic lights. Finally we arrived at the school. It was a big brownstone building on East 81st that overlooked what I think is the East River. I checked my watch. It was around lunchtime so all of the students were inside.

Emily stepped forward and held the door open for me. I thanked her and we made our way towards the Reception. A woman with bright green spherical earrings and a tight brown bun on her head stared at us quizzically through her thick black glasses.

Emily stuck out her hand. "My name is Emily Jacobs and this is Piper McLean. We're here to enrol some children into your school."

"Is this some kind of joke?" The woman asked sharply. She reached for a black phone next to her.

I saw fear flash in Emily's eyes before she stood up a bit taller and snapped her fingers. "Let me repeat myself. My name is Emily Jacobs and school has not started yet. I'm looking to enrol some students into this school."
