It's been a though month for Lucy. Her mom died in a car accident and Tamara moved out. And Jackson passed away a few months ago but Lucy is still feeling sad about it. Her mental health is going downhill. Like really downhill. She hasn't been at work for a few days, because she's "sick". Lucy doesn't want to go to work. Her motivation is gone. Tim doesn't ride a lot with her anymore because he has more responsibilities than before. So that also made her motivation disappear totally. (Lucy's not dating Tim)
Lucy booked a hotel room from the downtown because she doesn't wanna be in her home. It feels empty because Jackson and neither Tamara aren't there anymore. She has many unanswered calls from Tim, Nolan, Angela, Nyla and Grey.
Right now she is eating her take away breakfast in her hotel room. She's watching a new true crime movie from the TV, until someone knocked on her door.
She opened it. Grey and Bradford are standing there in front of her.
"Can we come in?" Tim asked.
"Fine..." Lucy replied.Tim and Grey walked into Lucy's room. There are empty beer bottles on the table. A lot of take away boxes on the trash can and floor.
"What are you doing here?" Lucy asked.
"Well what do you think? You haven't showed up at work for 6 days. Everyone is worried about you. Can you tell us why?" Grey said.
"It's just-... umm..." Lucy tried to come up with some words. She seemed anxious.
"Can I have a moment with her?" Tim asked.
"Yeah, sure." Grey replied.Lucy and Tim went to the bedroom to talk.
"Can you at least tell me what's going on? I've been worried about you." Tim said.
Lucy bit her lip and a tear came out of her eye.
"It's just been so hard. First Jackson's gone, my mom died, Tamara moved out and you don't ride with me anymore. I feel like everything is going downhill and against me." Lucy finally told the truth to Tim. She started to cry.
"I have no one to talk to anymore. And before you say anything about my dad, he moved in NYC ans he's not in touch with me anymore." Lucy continued.
"And you think that this is going to fix your problems? Staying in a hotel, getting drunk and eating take away for a week?" Tim said.
"At least it's better than working." Lucy said.
"This is gonna ruin you! If you are not gonna show up at work, you will literally lose your badge." Tim yelled at Lucy.
"You wanna know why I'm not showing up at work? Well you are one of the reasons why. I lost my motivation because you are not riding with me anymore! I'm feeling really lonely because I'm either going solo on patrol or with some random colleagues I'm not even close with!" Lucy said to Tim angrily.
Then Tim just left the room and the whole hotel with Grey. Lucy's words got Tim thinking. He never realised that he was one of the reasons she lost her motivation at work.next day
Lucy woke up and her visit is ending today at the hotel so she needs to go back home.
At same time Tim is thinking that should he call Lucy. He knows that she needs help. But if she doesn't like him anymore, who does she have to talk to?in the evening
Lucy drove to the nearest beach. She sat down on the pier and looked at the sunset. The beach is the place she always feels safe. She loved the beach when she was a kid. Suddenly she got this feeling of peace. She hasn't felt like this in days.
Then someone touched her shoulder. It's Tim. Lucy stood up and looked at him.
"How did you find me?" Lucy asked.
"I know that you love the beach." Tim answered.
"You know me so well." Lucy giggled.Tim sat next to Lucy on the bench.
"Are you feeling better?" Tim asked.
"I guess? I feel a lot more peaceful than last week. Like all the stress was lifted of my shoulders." Lucy said.
"I'm sorry what I said to you yesterday. I was just full of emotions and had to get it off my chest. But it is true that I'm not really interested in patrol anymore because it's not entertaining anymore because nobody really knows me so well like you do. I always have to explain everything I'm talking about." Lucy said.
"I forgive you. I promise that I will ride with you as soon as I can. And I brought some food for you. After all that take away food you've eaten for the past week, you definitely need some homemade salad." Tim said and gave the salad to Lucy.
"Thanks." Lucy smiled.
Tim was happy to see Lucy better. He was really worried about her.
"Do you need anything else? You deserve some good treatment after what you've gone through." Tim asked.
"A hug?" Lucy said.
"Come here." Tim said and he hugged Lucy. After an hour of talking and laughing, the sun finally set.
"See you tomorrow at work?" Tim asked.
"Definitely." Lucy smiled.the end
