e!news Ivy Russell "forced" to retire race after stating over team radio "I don't feel well," and "I need to stop." Immediate thoughts were dehydration, but she refused medical attention and drinks after getting out of her car, instead heading straight to her driver room. Mclaren driver and Russell's boyfriend, Lando Norris, as well as Ivy's brother, George, seemed particularly concerned over the sudden retirement from the race as expected, with the following being said over the Mclaren team radio:
LANDO: "Is Ivy okay?" - "Yes. Focus on the race, Lando." LANDO: "Do you know what's wrong with her?" - "She said she felt unwell and needed to retire, that's all we know." LANDO: "Can you keep me updated?" - "If we hear anything else." LANDO: [quietly] "Sh*t!"
and this over the Mercedes: - "Ivy is retiring, George. That puts you up into P5." GEORGE: "She's okay, yeah?" - "As far as we're aware, yes." GEORGE: "Alright. Let me know if you get told anything else about how she's doing."
Some fans have already got some rumours circling, with the most popular belief being nausea due to a possible pregnancy. If this is the case, Norris is either completely unaware of the situation or is suddenly the greatest at keeping secrets, despite his poor secret-keeping in the past. What are your thoughts?
