There's three of them?

A Chaotic Day

Chris, Chuck, Shadow, Sonic, Knuckles and Big were gathered up in Chuck's lab, drinking coffee.

"Shouldn't we be out trying to stop Eggman instead of taking a coffee break?" Shadow asked.

"I'm hoping that we could put our heads together and unravel the mystery of Eggman's Chaos creature." Chuck said.

"It's the most powerful thing I've ever seen. We watched it gulp down two Chaos Emeralds like they were candy." Knuckles said.

"They made that thing even stronger!" Shadow said.

"It sounds like it's going to be a real challenge to defeat this creature." Chuck said.

"It will. I knew it would be trouble when I saw it on Angel Island." Knuckles said.

Knuckles was sleeping through a storm at the base at the base of the Master Emerald shrine.

"After Chaos Control happened, Angel Island was transported into this world. That's where the Master Emerald was, and I guarded it around the clock. One night, a huge bolt of lightning woke me up. But this wasn't an ordinary thunderstorm. Something very strange was happening at the summit. I knew the Master Emerald was in danger, but it was too late. And that's when I saw it." he narrated.

Then he woke up to see Chaos, in its normal form, standing at the top of the shrine.

"If the Master Emerald's on Angel Island, why aren't you there now protecting it?" Chris asked.

"Because it's too late. The Chaos creature made sure of that." he said and continued.

"Hey! Who are you?" Knuckles asked and saw the Master Emerald had been shattered. "What happened to the Master Emerald? Are you the one who destroyed it?" he asked and punched Chaos, but no damage was done, and Chaos in return smacked him with its head, sending him back a few steps.

Chaos then dissolved into a puddle.

"Wait!" he said but Chaos evaporated. "Blast! Where did that thing go?"

Suddenly there was an earthquake.

"Now what?" he said and Angel Island started to fall into the ocean. "The Master Emerald keeps this island hovering in the air, but it can't if it's shattered!"

After the memory Knuckles was silent.

"You shouldn't blame yourself for what that creature did, Knuckles." Chuck said.

"Big, when you were looking for Froggy in the forest, didn't you see something that looked like Chaos?" Chris asked.

In a forest Chaos, in its puddle form, flowed out of the rocks and forced itself inside Froggy.

"Hey, you find another one, Froggy?" Big said then Froggy grew a tail. "Hey, am I seein' things? You're growing a tail!"

Froggy turned around to face Big, and leapt toward him as the flashback ended.

"I tried to catch Froggy, but he was faster than me, and he hopped away with something I found in the forest." Big said.

"What was that?" Chris asked.

"It was a big purple rock. It looked awful pretty when it was glowing." Big said and Chris stood up.

"That sounds like it could have been a Chaos Emerald!"

"If that's the case, then we'd better find that little frog quick or it won't survive long." Chuck said.

"Why, Grandpa?"

"Because Dr. Eggman is determined to do anything to seize an Emerald. The more Emeralds he feeds that Chaos creature, the easier it will be to take over this world." Chuck said remembering what happened.
